It's more akin to a tower defense game, for those of you who don't know it was originally a DotA 2 custom game, which was quite fun to play in short bursts.
The mod creators and valve decided to each do their standalone version since the game was getting very big to be held within the DotA servers.
Now riot just joined cause they're fucking faggots, in reality they're the only ones making a cash grab.
