If nothing you like comes to the system by the end of the year, then skip it I guess. Xenoblade 2, Smash and Mario Odyssey are the only must-own exclusives the system has, and Odyssey has been REALLY overrated by critics (not counting BotW because it is not an exclusive).

SMM2, RF4 remaster, RF5, and Animal Crossing. Might get Astral Chain too but waiting to see some more gameplay when it comes out.

If your PC is strong enough, you should be able to emulate BotW. Especially if that's the only game you're really interested in.

I picked it up because it was an action game made by guys who helped work on Devil May Cry prior to leaving Capcom, not because of the protagonist or any fetishes. Conversely, I think she's kind of ugly, especially with that silly beehive hairdo. She's probably the only woman in the world who looks better with her hair cut short.

I'm considering it too. On the one hand, there's a handful of games I want to play:

Same, i hesitate between buying a hackable switch or wait for a new model

New model is just going to be the same thing but with a better screen, more battery life, and non-detachable Joy-Cons. The *other* new model that actually adds extra power to the Switch is still just a rumor, and even if that rumor is true, it's currently on the drawing board and won't be out until mid-2020 at the earliest.

General rule of Nintendo consoles: Buy only if you want to play Nintendo games. If you want third party and AAA-level titles, buy a PC.

I would love a faster model too, that has been one of the things also keeping me back from already buying one. It looks like most games I'm interested it will run at 720p 30FPS or below, that's really a huge downgrade compared to 4K 60FPS which I'm used to. It would be great if they got a new model out which managed to either hit 60FPS or at the very least render at 1920x1080.

I'm not interested in the whole portability shit either, I don't take long trips very often and there's no room for 'on the go' gaming in my daily schedule. It would be wonderful if I didn't have to pay for all the portability-related shit and could just play the games.

The dark souls of my generation.
Except it was shit and broken instead of skill based.
But that's what made it fun.
All of my friends would come over after school and we would try to beat levels.
We could never beat the game but we had a great time trying.

I just wanted to recapture some of that magic.

afaik botw is the most demanding game on WiiU and it runs really fucking great so, it should be playable

On Yuzu? Fuck no, last I heard it's completely broken and doesn't even go in-game. It's not a major Nintendo brand or an extremely popular game/series, so I expect it will be years (sadly) until it's playable. I don't expect devs to pay special attention to Xenoblade 2, so it will probably only work when the emulator is real good at emulating and can run mostly everything. It's still very early.

Currently the switch is not worth it. Botw, mario odyssey and smash are the only games that you are missing out on. To those 3 you could add:

-"Anime tits xeno 2: renge of the shota" . Not worth it. Bad anime story with cringe dialog and worse combat than it's predecessor. "But mu, muh tits", just watch porn.

-Bayo 2 and Donkey kong 2: Though good games, they are wii u ports. If you haven't gone out of your way to play them before, there is no rush to do it now.

- "Mario cuck 8 switch rerelease". Average. Completely useless now that the much superior CTR nitro fueled just released for every other platform.

RIGHT NOW there is no reason to buy a switch, specially if you already own another console or pc. Highly suggest to just wait for a few years and buy the 3rd-4th version of the switch for much less. Also pirating it would make sense as then it should finally have a decent library with botw 2, animal crossing and maybe even metroid prime 4.
