As I understand it you claim those points to turn them into boosts, and then using boosts gives you tokens. I think. Boost capacity is (apparently) increased by 100 per day but to actually increase it substantially you have to spend money, I think it's 100 per dollar spent. It is absurdly Jewy even for Valve, and it isn't fun because there isn't really a competition because teams weren't assigned randomly and equally.

Points are incredibly easy to get, thousands upon thousand just for idling in a game for 30 minutes or doing mundane tasks in a select few. Points are the common resource.
Capacity on the other hand is pretty much equivalent ot the money you spent, you get 100 for free each day but otherwise you have to pay for it no way around that. It's the rare and actual valuable resource in this "game".
Boost is just a fancy craft button that also serves to let you participate in that useless race.

I have over 700 games but it only shows which of the installed ones give me point, and it's just 3 out of 15 installed

No, neither does the cap, if you are at 0 due having used all your boosts you will only have cap of 100 the next day. unless you open your wallet.

So basically if you are just going for the FREE GAMES (Fat Chance brah) you Boost once a day to qualify and then sprint the last one to cash in on your points. If you want VALUE you can basically just use up all your cap on getting as many 5$ discounts you can without spending money and can then safely ignore the event cause the 100 limit "free" raise ain't gonna amount to any more discounts anyway.

So the event is basically stacked to favour the people who got started with a high limit due their "purchasing history", the limit raise per $ is low so low you need to spend a ton for each 5$, the limit raise per day is pathetic, and that the limit is lowered for each cash in means there is no real reason to sit on it unless you are in for it for the "FREE GAMES" and as said, you only really need one boost a day to qualify from what i got.

You get boosts, each boost turns into 1000 Tokens when used, there is just a additional step.

I liked it yesterday because i thought the Capacity would reset back to the max you had+100 and not just 100.

What the manual says happens:
You start with a maximum boost capacity of 100. Every $1 you spend the maximum boost you can hold increases by 100 and every day your maximum boost increases by 100 to a limit of 1000. This means you can max out your limit to 1000 by spending $10, then fill it every day by doing achievements.

What actually happens:
It resets to 100.

You could have a million points but if you only have 100 capacity, you're only getting 100 points. And you lose the other 999,900 points too. You need to spend 1 USD for 100 points of capacity. Hope you are ready to spend $10,000 to get those million points!

Boost capacity and boost points aren't enough to do a boost though. You need an actual boost, and to get one you have to buy games I think.
So even though everyone gets +100 capacity each day (and have a points reservoir from their achievements to fill it from), they still won't be able to boost presumably until they spend money to buy games.

Except no one knows how much you have to spend to get one boost.

Some people think you get as many boost as you get 1000 capacity from, which means you get $10 will simultaneously net you 1000 boost capacity and one boost. But since you would use that boost on that 1000 capacity it makes the extra capacity you get per day pointless.

Im pretty sure its not, something is going extremely wrong at steam right now.

In my case it is more that im limiting my budget for the sale to 100$ like i do every sale so i don't get too much of a backlog even though i can definitely afford more, as said though, i started with a a lot of shit so it is more that im disappointed because i overestimated the event due the great start i personally had with it because i was bombed with bonuses at the start because i actually buy games pretty regularly outside of sales since i can afford full price.

To get boost, I think you just need to redeem achievements. I got like 25 boosts and 11000 points for redeeming my cuphead achievements.
