fire red did some dumb shit with restricting cross gen evos until the post game, and soul silver didn't help with the level curve and pokemon distribution problems but they're still better than the originals in every way which is the point of a remake.

All the HD remasters on PS3 were top tier. Just a simple improvement to the resolution, framerate and AA, and cheap to boot. This modern trend of remaking the whole game in a shit engine and asking full price needs to fuck off and die.

Actually, the entire point of FR/LG was to make all the Kanto and Johto mons available in Gen III since you couldn't transfer from the gameboy games.

HG/SS was so you could get the Johto mons and legends that were a bitch to get in RSE (Mystic Ticket to get Ho-Oh / Lugia which required physical attendance at an event, or grinding to cure all 48 shadow pokemon in Colosseum)

ORAS was just due to demand, hence why it turned out to be shit in the end.
