does it feel like an unfinished game without all the DLC? are any of the DLCs worth it?
Total War: Warhammer
I personally found only the Wood Elf DLC to be worth it, but other people really like Beastmen. The nice part about the DLC is that it's still added to the overall map even if you don't buy them.
so you can play against those factions, but not as them?
just use creamapi.
They just add more factions or lords for you to play. Also some special powered up versions of certain units that you can only have one at a time.
yes
as all the contents still in the game just you can't play as them(or use the additional units that were added).
find a race that seems fun then if you really like the game buy that races expac.
I think in terms of quality the norsca dlc is probably the most unique one. But unless angry notvikings are your fetish don't worry about it, they will be up in norsca fucking shit up regardless of you buying it or not
I’ve heard people bitch about the WElf quality not being there, but I honestly feel it’s one of the better ones.
Boys in Blue and Gobbos are my favorite though.
ok, that aint so bad then
I guess the blood for the blood god DLC is only visible if you're zoomed in, while the game is actually played zoomed out most of the time?
WElfs problem is just that they need a rework to fill out the unit roster and add different faction leaders and make the amber system not hot ass.
Personally I feel like the game is unfinished because of how they just stopped caring about the online battles mode.
The campaign is just "meh", but the battles mode allows my friends and I to capture those old tabletop days.
If only they had spent more time and care balancing this part of the game, while also taking the time to actually refine their battle AI...
I still play it for the battles with friends, but God it could have been so much more.
How's the beastmemes? I know they suffered from being one of the original DLC factions but are they at least fun to dick around with in ME?
Is the campaign playable COOP or only single battles?
Yes until you lose a battle, then you lose everything.
depends on if you like zooming in to watch charges dude,or look at carpets.. don't worry about blood if you aren't either of those types of player
co op and VS mode. whats sorta neat is in VS the opposing player can assume direct control of any ai forces player 1 is fighting against. always a good laugh
fuck, coop+VS has me sold
I really liked beastmen, but other anons right, always have a back up stack sitting somewhere hiding as losing a horde army loses it's upgrades. Mind you minotaurs are fucking fantastic
2 player max of course for campaign
Minotaurs alone are what tempt me into picking them up. I love the way they bowl through enemy formations.
how does the campaign part work in coop, human players take turns playing and then AI, like in civilization games?
the dlc races in wh1 are all kinda meh
the ones in wh2 are way better
yeah
also in battle you can split units between the co-op players
yeah some of the best fun has come from vs mode for me, I'd reccomend getting the GCCM modded map pack if you do VS: some of the maps normally the ai have trouble with.. but if it's 2 players then things get real interesting.
Honestly the whole rosters pretty fun, even the campaign style of horde mode means realistically you can fuck off anywhere in the world to actually play once it starts.
Human 01 has his turn: ends turn.
human 02 has his turn:
all the ai:
repeat ad infineum
I only play Druchii.
are there any good players whos gameplay and commentary would help me git gud?
>no upkeep or recruitment cost lets you shit out an infinitely replenishable skelestack early game to out-attrition your enemies in the bone tide
>later transition into constructs and watch them wade (or fucking dig lmao tomb scorpions) into enemy formations and mulch them
Getting to ignore the ritual race and take your time acquiring the books is a nice bonus
DEALERS IN DEATH
COLD BLOODED WAIFUS
don't worry about that user, follow these tactics and just have fun.
few tips:
hold spacebar to see where your shits going.
hold alt leftclick to drag formations arounnd, altrightclick to spin them
if you make a ctrl group of units then lock it they will attack as one force if you double click the enemy
go hard anonsky
Welfs real problem is their campaign is too damn easy. It would have been nice to see some Athel Loren expansion on the campaign map too. And possibly being able to have more than one building per conquered settlement, while keeping the 'smoll numbers' aesthetic, maybe only being able to build more each time you reach pop 5.
>does it feel like an unfinished game without all the DLC?
not really
>are any of the DLCs worth it?
-The Prophet & The Warlock/The King and the Warlord (mix of dorfs and gobbos/orcs)
-Norsca/Chaos (flavors of chaos)
-Grim and the Grave (empire and desu cunts)
they are pretty good overall and dlcs are shared between two games. as for the races, i didnt care much for elves, bought beastmen, it was alright
lots of good info in this thread, thanks anons
dont forget the chad checkerboard
How do I git gud at SFO? I'm eternally poor and can't even secure my home province since the first fucking ai built walls and has 2 stacks of units sitting in a garrison despite having no recruitment or income buildings.
This is literally within 5 turns of starting out as well, and my province is always on the brink of rebelling so I can never actually leave to try and bait them out of the garrison. It's really frustrating how blatantly the AI factions just fucking cheat.
The DLC factions are still in the game regardless of whether you own their dlc or not, buying it only lets you select the new factions to play as.
