It's not that hard. Do the Novice Hall on tank and you can just work your way through a couple of dungeons afterwards, pull small and then go larger once you get more confident in the role and the class.

The only truly stress-free job is DPS.

You get one specific unique item depending on which city you start in, but they're not even unique models. You can get an identical looking item from most vendors, it'll just have a unique name attached.
Also there will be a badge in your profile showing which city you started from that cannot be changed even with a fantasia/other methods.
