Rex's M1's 'cooldown' is cancelled by using his M2.
If you have one or two Backup Mags you can hold down M1 while spam clicking M2 to fire far faster than even multiple Syringes.
I think the new music sections suck, its atmospheric low-key music for 2 minutes and suddenly it bursts out into "epic keyboard jamming" and it just sounds stupid, I actually started laughing, it just doesn't work. Like he's imitating the first games soundtrack while not knowing what he's doing. Maybe the soundtrack is just in EA aswell, we'll see

If you take the pod fuel array you blow up if you lose 50% hp while holding it.
You don't need to carry it the whole run so if you switch it for another equipment and then pick it back up before leaving the level you'll have a lot more room for error.

The next next update is adding no levels but it’s adding spitters.
The third update is the new crystal cave area that’s adding new mushroom enemies, gups and new crystal golem enemies.
After that, it’s the update for the last stage which takes place on a moon and adds a new alien like enemy type and the final boss.
Whorls and spiders are not coming back. Devs thought they wouldn’t fit in with this game.

If you're on pace to get the free preon accumulator in Rallypoint Delta, you're doing it right. Time is much more valuable than that medkit you jogged across the map to get. If you reach Abyssal Depths and you're doing good on items, feel free to grind for the gold chest. Otherwise I'd just keep moving

Not him but I only farm for gold on the 4th stage if it would save the run. Otherwise I grab everything else and move on. If I already have a really solid build I just grab large chests and good items from multiterminals, then buy gold chest from whatever I get from the teleporter fight (or combat shrines if they're around)

Rush 1 through 3, farm 4 if you have good items but rush it if not.
Rush = 4 min completion at the absolute worst.

My current run, I have two gestures and two fuel cells keeping up my Spinel Tonic buff permanently.
Before the last fuel cell, there was a brief 2s period where I had ~140HP and was barely able to move at all.

Not really optimal unless you have backup mags/cd reduction. The first hour of an Arti run actually requires cd management/skill alternating.
But yes M2 spam is the endgame.
Merc is the only class I seem to be able to get good results in single player Monsoon with. Just have a way easier time with him plus he has all that built in mobility.

How rex moves his robot body through dirt, solid stone, metal grates, and solid steel just looks retarded and the vines all pop up and do literally nothing. It would be cooler if he used his vines to sprint or some shit like that.

Each brooch (including the first) gives +20 Barrier per kill. Barrier seems to deplete at the same rate no matter how much you have.
You can imagine how much health you get when you get on death procs chain react killing all the small mobs (aka ceremonial daggers)

I like toggle to sprint in this game, so I end up needing to press shift more than ctrl. If I swapped them on, say, Mercenary, I'd be mashing ctrl like a fucking madman and hitting sprint once every 10 seconds.

I use 4 for sprint since it's right next to the index finger I can hit it without any weird contortions. Everything else is the standard kbm setup. Works well enough
It makes it easier to play with him since I have 3 of my abilities aviable on my right hand, which is also the one I aim with. This way I can always havce a figner ready for each skill instead od juggling it.
If I don't need to spam it, I simply time my dashes. Can't see how having the ability binded there would cause any issue.

Malachite mobs should not be able to completely nullify healing, plain and simple. That shit's a death sentence for most characters. Just heavily reduce it, like 25% effectiveness. Especially because, as far as I can tell, it's not afflicted with an attack, they can just DO it to you, you can't dodge it.

Sniper is definitely not confirmed and probably won't make it in. Han-D and Bandit got far along in development based on datamining, but no progress has been made on them between launch and now so I wouldn't be surprised if they're scrapped too.

This is where I get confused. Me and my group were already struggling with Monsoon previously. We have never made it past map 4 on Monsoon. We have done several hour long runs of Monsoon on the first game. What are we missing? We keep playing that difficulty trying to figure out what we're lacking and we always get killed in 2 or 3 hits on the 4th map no matter what. We get jumped by far too many enemies that we can barely damage. We've tried various characters and strats. Should we always rush teleporter or try to grab all the items? Anyone have some tips?

Don't take more than 4 minutes on any stage until you loop.
Grab only chests that you can reach quickly and don't grind for anything except maybe the gold chest on lvl 4 if you're already doing well.

Is that really it? I feel like that may it sometimes but even as Merc I don't have enough i-frames to dodge all of the damage coming my way by floor 4 usually. Sometimes there's simply way too many enemies and our group barely scratches them. Floor 3 always feels like a solid challenge but 4 is always way too much.
How long are you taking to reach stage 4?
If it's more than 20 minutes you need to hurry the fuck up.

We have done strats similar to Usually I'm having to rush my friends constantly. Often times they're wanting to grab all the items they can. The strat you propose though I've never been able to sell them on attempting. I'll further try to get them to attempt it and see if we make it any further. Sometimes I struggle to even get them to agree on activating the teleporter as soon as we find it. Had the same problems with them in the first game but it didn't see to hurt us as hard there.

Get there faster. Stage 4 at 14 minutes is a different experience than at 20+ especially on Monsoon. Time is really precious in the first few stages

How the fuck are you supposed to play Rex? He uses way too much health and gets way too little back, even if you manage to R a large group. Feels like a suicide character at later levels, even more so than Artificer.
Enemies spawn way too slowly as soon as the game starts in order to buy most things.
Hitting the teleporter and then buying things is pretty much the only way to actually afford items before you get overrun by the escalating difficulty.
Maybe if you explain this to your friends they'll be more willing to move faster. Of course if there are combat shrines you could prioritize those first and get away with it.

This was basically what I wanted to confirm. I always tell them I don't think we're going fast enough we should attempt faster but they never seem to want to try it that quick. We've tried a variety of strats but they never want to leave the items behind. What I find funny is I always end up with the most items out of all of them every time, even though they're the ones that want to collect them all.

Well, there's your problem. Your friends are retarded. Going past 5 minutes per level on Monsoon is suicide, you're 100% guaranteed to get fucked if you try to get literally every item on every stage.
I don't think your group will ever loop if your friends keep playing slowly.

really? i've found im way more consistent on monsoon grabbing 75%+ of the items on every stage
trying to rush leaves you with minimal items and lower chances to get the items that are able to actually carry you (which is currently a very small pool of them, most are useless)

Not mutually exclusive. If you're playing a high mobility character, it's pretty easy to get most items in under 5 minutes.
It partially relies on RNG though sometimes chests are spaced out like fucking crazy, sometimes they aren't.
Gearbox published it but what does Epic have to do with it? The game went under Gearbox when the game was about to release under early access. Looking at the roadmap the game doesn't appear to be hurting from the publishing deal.

None of those are confirmed, if anything the ones already in the files are confirmed OUT because they were partially done and then scrapped in development. Also Hopoo said they want more new characters and particularly characters that all have distinctive silhouettes and designs, they made Rex because he stands out from all the "dude in a suit" bipeds they already have.
Acrid is probably the only one still coming back at this point. The other two will be new.

This is not risk of rain 1. By rushing the teleporter you are hurting your items/minute (on the clock) which is directly proportional to your strength and ability to handle the level.
Hitting the teleporter stops you from opening things and massively advances the clock.
This isn't to say you should spend 15 minutes a stage, but you should probably clean it out unless it's the first level with slow income and no mobility.

Maybe it's just me cause I've never had a shaped glass this early, but I see potential here. Having a group to throw the flower at out of the way and One-two-punching with LMB and RMB effectively drained any target's health even without crits or shaped glass, even on overlords. Cleared maps faster than I have with other characters with it. The only hindrance to him is the lag issue which would freeze the game for seconds at some points.

Farthest I've gotten on drizzle was a run that just ended, got to stage 15. Also i think the level counter is broke or some shit because i went to the bazaar a second time after stage 12 and when i left the bazaar the next level still said stage 13

No, it’s because they take longer to die so you’re slower to move away.
1. play not-mult
2. get the fuel cell from the back of the pod you spawn in, it goes to your equip slot
3. get to stage 4
4. go to the platform second from the top
5. interact with rex
Also if you take more than 50% the fuel array will explode and likely kill you. Don't take 50% damage

I think the reward is there, it's just the risk is way too stupid high. If you hold M1 and spam M2 on CD he definitely does extremely high damage, but he just fucking kills himself while doing it. He's also amazing in multiplayer with his R and his debuff. If you don't spam M2 however, his damage is completely unserviceable. The M1 is shit by itself. They either need to decrease the HP cost or buff his M1 so it's not as risky. It only becomes manageable if you get an absurd amount of healing items to sustain it.
I also think it's dumb that his R costs HP considering it's supposed to be the move he uses to heal himself, and early game he is definitely not going to be hitting enough targets for that sustain to be enough.

I'm kinda starting to dislike the line of sight direction that the game is taking. I guess I understand it for bosses, but having normal enemies doing it is annoying. It wasn't that bad before since stone golems were the only ones that did it, and they would miss their laser if you strafe to the side (but sometimes they don't), and you have ample time to react to it. The clay templars on the other hand are literally just a constant nonstop stream of damage which you can't keep dodging. It feels like shit considering you have classes who can't take a hit and rely on manually dodging just to stay alive.
Engi + Fungus + Aegis is a pretty neat combo.

Advice from an addict of this game.
Essentially, you need a mix of both speed and farming. You shouldn't be spending more than 4 minutes per map, which means activating the teleporter before every 2:30 mark since it takes 90 seconds to charge (2:30, 6:30, 10:30 and so on). Activating earlier has the chance of having cheaper chests in the next maps. Spot the teleporter's embers in the distance and beeline to it, only stop or diverge your path if you have enemies spawning enough or enough cash already to pop chests and turnstiles. Prioritize crits over everything. On map 4 if you have at least 2 challenge shrines, you'll have enough cash to instantly pop the legendary. If you don't have a fair amount of crits by the second loop (2 glasses minimum), you're fucked.
That's the early game strategy that's always yielded endgame results for me
I think this was genuinely the only time I noticed I did damage, ult to drag enemies into one area + succ cube and gasolines with a couple of glasses.
At the same time tho literally anyone can do this exact same thing so it seems more like rex is still weak.
What are the best damage options? Takes too long to kill overloading worms even when spamming m1 m2 as Rex.

Also if you follow the timing right, you'll be able to get the annihilator on map 3 every time assuming it sends you to Rallypoint Delta and not Scorched Acres. It's a significant alpha damage weapon that can clear a good chunk of boss health in one shot. Aim it at the ground under Imp Overlords, cause they're really good at listing lazily to the left.

I get that from a balance standpoint rex's abilities should damage shields but also with transcendence you technically have 1 health, which is why you get 0 gold for doing shrines. I don't know man I just hate rushing through levels. It feels like regardless of what you choose to do, your run is mostly going to be reliant on your item build anyways, so you may as well go for as much as you can. Yeah at the 20 minute mark someone who's rushing might be at stage 7 and someone who's going slow will be at stage 4, but the guy who's going slow will be much better equipped and will have a much easier time dealing with the current difficulty level.
I also don't really get how people play this game where the main draw is becoming a god through a ton of powerups, and then they choose to forego that.

The fun is having a different play through each game I guess. It’s fun to have gasoline one run then hooks and ukules the next. Basically playing a game one way isn’t very interesting anymore, so I can enjoy them all. No need to be efficient since it’s your choice.
