Bloodstained on Nintendo Switch

Why the fuck did they use memereal engine 4? What was wrong with 2D? It runs like shit on PS4 a good chunk of the time too. Sometimes it'll just freeze randomly in place for a few seconds. Bloodstained ended up being better than anyway was expecting, but they need to dump that garbage engine for the next game. Fuck zoomers and their hatred of 2D, this games wasn't meant for them anyway.

Most games work well enough. If it can run VC4 just fine it should be able to run Bloodstained

Hope they update it or something I don't even care how bad it looks but the frame drops, graphical tears, and crashes are annoying.

The hardware literally can't handle it. The Switch version looks worse than the PC version on low quality.

But there's much better looking games that run just fine on the Switch. It was just rushed so they didn't piss off backers with a long delay.

What a fucking disaster this port is. Mega Man 11 looks better and runs at 1080p/60fps in both docked and handheld. No excuse for this version to look this awful and run so poorly.

Why did this game need to be kickstarted?

2D is exponentially more expensive to make and harder to do. Screens are 256x240 anymore. A sprite can't be 24x48; on an 1920x1080 screen your character sprite is going to end up being something like 64x128 or 128x128. Making large pixel art with dozens of frames is time consuming compared to just making a 3D model and animating it.
