I'm glad they didn't reveal EVERYTHING in the direct. I'll miss the costumes, but more powerup is a great news.

SMB1 and 3D world both have excluive power ups and the ice flower kinda needs the ability to grab objects to be used effectively, so it would fit.
And people saying it is hard to implement, it isn't, enemies dont each need a frozen animation, they just get stuck inside an ice cube the size of their hitbox like in NSMB already

Only a few titles that released year 1 before the functionality was added don't support it. Almost every game nowadays supports it, especially first party titles. I absolutely guarantee this game supports it.
