Poor pacing, incredibly easy, art style and graphics aren’t great, and feels a little too much like an OoT rehash. Still a great game overall though. It’s just a little forgettable, insofar as any Zelda is forgettable.

And that's still lacking the Darknuts and I remember some armored enemy in the Yeti's mansion.

It was overhyped, the reveal made it look like LotR: Zelda edition, plus people were happy to see Toon Link sidelined. It's my favorite one but it didn't exactly live up to all of those expectations.

Pacing mainly. Most complaints stem from the first third of the game. The Wolf gimmick was tacked on and felt underutilized. Hell, the new stuff in general got sidelined for things like Epona and Ganon.

Pacing issues. Aonuma pretty much thinks kids are retards and that they need extensive tutorials if you have to press a lot of buttons. The real game doesn't even begin until after you finally return Link to his true self, 3 HOURS IN. I expect that kind of shit in an RPG, not an action game like Zelda.

It doesn't even stop there, the game slows to a crawl every single area, as you need to perform some arbitrary fetch quest before you can progress. It's everything wrong with WW turned up to 11, filled with sidequests that feel like shit and give you shit rewards, with unlikeable characters. Mechanics that are introduced and dropped at a moments notice and spread so far out in a world of nothing.

Their function was to tell Link where to go a couple of times.

I was seriously happy that I could say "Ow" when I got hit in BotW. I was even shocked to die a few times, sometimes literally. Shock arrow to puddle wasn't what I was expecting. Going back to play the OG Zelda, it's just saddening how hard things hit. Even worse, playing randomizers now has made me realize that the 1.0 LttP had enemies hit twice as hard as later releases. Zelda use to not pull it's punches, because enemies were simple, so they needed some kind of threat to them. Lowering their damage, while making them more complex would have made sense, but they barely changed, while Link's tools for dealing with them only got better.
