No rumble in a mouse or keyboard. No local splitscreen.

My BIGGEST complaint with a lot of PC ports is all the troubleshooting that may occur. With just about every single console game, it'll work right off the bat and there's no fuss. With a lot of PC ports there's often controller/driver issues, bugs, poor kb+m support, certain resolutions or settings may not work. My complaints are most applicable to Japanese games, though.

on console, if you see frame drops or weird textures or something, you just accept it and keep playing. on PC, any kind of frame skip or graphical effect that looks wrong, you start to think of what options you need to change to fix it

Because you're pirating everything.

There hasn't been a lot of good MP games coming out

i feel this way too, but not sure why.

Because you can't handle the superiority of the master race. Git gud

This. It's good ad bad. Console gaming is like Buddhism - enjoy what you can and accept what you can't change.

>hook PC up to TV
>use a controller
There, now it feels literally identical to console.

Because spending all that money just to play a bunch of shitty games leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

This is what I do, I don’t think I can ever use a monitor for gaming or porn again

Because your peasant eyes aren’t used to 60+ FPS gaming, don’t worry you’ll adjust.

In that case it's your own fault if you have a shit taste

that's a beautiful analogy

No because I was smart and bought a w7 shitbox for mostly older games and am perfectly happy with it.

more like his fault for not having adult money

Fuck off

>experience input lag because the controller connection isn’t optimized like it is on a console

because you're not used to smooth 60fps gameplay at a resolution over 720p

...the fuck?

Attached: 1559863055506.webm (488x318, 109K)

>There, now it feels literally identical to console.
if you mean the 50-200ms input delay that tv's have then i'd agree. imagine playing games at a delay that is on the order of your reaction time. disgusting.

It's not optimized on a console, you just are used to input lag already

This is more of a personal thing, but I don't like having so many options. I like playing a game where the developers chose and balanced most of the settings to get a certain look, and that's just the way it is. On PC you can adjust a lot of the settings, but I feel like even if you set them higher it can look weirdly sharp or artificial beyond the developer intentions.

Reading through this thread felt like a twilight zone episode.

>OP right now.

Attached: 1560205196761.png (1200x1042, 247K)

reminder that if you don't play morrowind, obilvion, and skyrim with a mod folder that is at least 3x the size of the base game then you're a dumb fuck

>game has no controller support or is buggy
always grinds my gears

The delay for modern TVs are around 15-30ms nowadays, the technology has improved massively that they're practically monitors

mod scenes have some of the biggest babies i've seen. tried to make a modpack for a friend and when asked for help got nothing but a 3rd degree lecture on how it's not moral to just clump mods together. I'm like, who the fuck wants to download a million separate files, why not just have a convenient pack it's not like im saying it's my own

i did this test on my expensive tv advertised as low input delay and it has ~50-70ms delay. i can really feel the delay and thus that tv is now just an anime watching station or i use it to play turn-based or otherwise slow-paced games

youtube.com/watch?v=3Xz9Ugd78Vc

>no local splitscreen
A feature that's been dead on consoles for over 10 years?

it's because even though the resolution can be set so high, the models themselves are still basically set for the middle or console level, so your really just shining a turd.
I agree with you, I just hate the video game online community as a whole and the whole idea of a "pc masterace" is honestly pathetic. It's literally just companies shilling

>or porn

What TV? 'expensive tv' doesn't explain much
My budget 4k Sony XE83 from 2 years ago has 37ms

>even though the resolution can be set so high, the models themselves are still basically set for the middle or console level, so your really just shining a turd.
ask me how i know you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about

As my freetime dwindles, so does my desire to fiddle with bullshit to get things working right.
>inb4 wagecuck
Yeah, I know.

i may have worded that poorly but it is true. at least what i was thinking
you can go fuck yourself though

>building and optimizing a computer is hard and time-consuming
nigger detected

>but it is true
wrong.

probably just triggered cuz i called the master race out
it's almost like have barely any money and can't really afford PC gaming so you just shitpost on the internet about how great it is.
I am probably way off though, huh?
once again, and finally, you can go fuck yourself

It is time consuming compared to just clicking a button. It's the same reason people buy those retarded mini consoles. Easy and quick access to games with no fuss.

If I get a PC but use a controller (I like to chill on my couch), can I get rumble on a xbox controller?

if the game has support for it, then yes it will

Because you have to commit to the game and can't use your computer to mindlessly browse anymore.Who doesn't play fullscreen.

Attached: 1534021080808.jpg (428x754, 124K)

Consoles are nice but I'm too lazy to use them. 90% of the time when I feel like playing a game I'm already using my PC so all I have to do is just start whatever game I want.

Is it a good idea to run a PC to a monitor and TV? I’m thinking of getting a gaming PC but still want a comfy console feel sometimes. Ideally I’d like to play 4X’s on the couch with a keyboard and mouse with a big screen.

>input delay was nonexistent 30 years ago on regular tvs
>today highest end tvs offer ultra fast 15ms delays
>technology has improved massively

Attached: 1549234257116.jpg (973x752, 235K)

>it's almost like have barely any money and can't really afford PC gaming
i built a $2k system recently, excluding monitors and peripherals. stay mad, peasant

>building a pc
>It is time consuming
nigger confirmed

You can have rumble on pretty much any controller that supports it

The screen isn't big enough to feel as immersive as a TV.
>inb4 use your computer on a television
Yeah if you want to kill your refresh rate and input lag.

not having a 34”

What the fuck does feel right even mean?

Because you've got Yea Forums open on your other monitor and discord on a 3rd monitor and maybe fucking sadpanda on a 4th
Turn off the internet and close everything when you vidya and it'll feel right.

>blocks your path

Attached: 1553849637458.jpg (1600x1143, 411K)

Because you're a brainlet or a poor fag who hasn't hooked a pc up to the 56 in tv in their living room.

You can play with a controller with rumble.

There's a lot of split screen and couch coop games on PC.

>buy steam link
>stream it into every TV in the house
There, now it's better than a console could ever possibly be.

Because you're used to play on console.
For me, its consoles that feel souless as shit.
Specially the Xbox 360. That menu hell makes me feel that something really wrong will happen and i will be unable to fix it because it's not truly under my control.

As a high end pc user for years THIS SO FUCKING MUCH

>tfw you realize you can't fix it because it's a game limitation
Some things are just meant to be.

r8 my setup

Attached: plsbegentle.jpg (960x559, 90K)

I would love if they made this exact case but with blue panels, would look even sicker

Most emulators support it and so do most console ports

Yes, and will be easier than with any other sort of controller.
Xinput just werks..

is 1440p a meme? I watch tests with a rtx 2070 and games get 80fps, which is good, but in 3 years that will be 60 or less. Not very futureproof.

Lmao, been playing in 4k since 2016
Just lower the graphics to high lmao

or just play in 120fps+ at 1080p

been giving some serious though to getting a (gaming) pc for the first time. Going with a 2 grand budget for the sake of future proofing.
Since i obviously don't know shit about building one myself, does the build on this site seem good? anything I should replace or wait for? plz help.

The only legitimate complaint itt

1080p
OMFG LMAO 2010 IS CALLING BUDDY

>hurr sure hook your PC up to your TV
We all know you never do this, or it’s a huge pain in the ass to keep moving it from your desk to the TV. It’s uncomfy as shit. Also having to still use the mouse to select options on the desktop to get into the game. It sucks. If you want to game on your couch with a controller you use a fucking console

Because you have a trash pc, a trash monitor, trash peripherals or an uncomfy chair, or no connection to a TV with a couch. Or any combination of these

For me it's the other way around. Console gaming feels cramped and claustrophobic because you can't alt-tab out or tweak any parts you don't like

>spends $2000+ to play on medium settings

>game has no controller support
The last time that happened in the early days of xinput. Now you can steam controller configurator with automatic presets, or even the steam controller. You can play anything with a controller, even games that never supported it.

>He doesn't own a Steam Link
lmfaoing my ass off

Attached: 1533006782893.jpg (453x604, 48K)

If I spend 1000+ I expect everything to work fucking perfectly but it never does.

>having rumble on
shiggy diggy

The weight and overall size, as well as the cost-to-screen-size ratio seem like the only things that improved. Oh, and flicker-free displays.
Have faith bro, we're getting there with micro-nano-oleds and the related tech

It feels amazing
>tfw plug in GCN controller adapter and playing games I used to love at 1440p with 60fps hacks while seeing switchbabies beg Nintendo to port them over so they can pay again for the same game

Attached: 1559523987013.jpg (1024x1024, 115K)

>all that high end periphery
>only one monitor
Don't tell me it's 1080p

+ mouse
+ microphone, probably?
+ twin monitors
+ clean room aesthetic
+ case not under desk
- cheapo monitors
- no cover on case
- meme desk pad
- cheap looking speakers?

1440p is fine. 4k for gaming though is a meme, it's only good for workstations.

What the fuck are you talking about?

I have a paranoid personality. I always feel like my expensive PC is going to break down or overheat. When Im playing on an inexpensive console I dont really care if it sounds like a hair dryer. I still game on my PC but there is always an added worry

FPS >>> resolution
1440p@120fps > 1080p@240 fps >>> 4k@60 fps > 4k with drops which you'll actually be getting in modern games on any reasonable setup

>local splitscreen on consoles
>being locked into a tiny resolution window with low framerate
I was scarred by RE5 on x360

I finished every single megaman game using an Xbox 360 controller, wireless on PC.

Neither it's optimized on a console, you donut. Also most tvs have more lag than most monitors do

It improved a lot if compared to the first LCDs, that could easily toss 200ms of delay on your face.

>keep moving it from your desk to the TV
I use a long hdmi cable, if they're in differnt rooms you can use a steam link or something
>having to still use the mouse to select options on the desktop to get into the game
Steam allows you to control the mouse on desktop mode with your gamepad by default, and has been for at least a couple years if not more
>If you want to game on your couch with a controller you use a fucking console
Big Picture on steam gives you a console-like interface. Is your couch with the tv in a diferent room from the pc or something?

It takes about 2-3 hours to completely build and set up a PC of you're not a smooth brain

>huge pain in the ass to keep moving it from your desk to the TV
unplugging some cables and carrying it to another room is a huge pain in the ass?

>implying 144hz 3440x1440 with freesync and ulmb feels "wrong"
Brainlet detected

High refresh rate monitors are what doesn't feel right to me. I swear finding a good 144hz/240hz monitor is harder than finding parts and building a PC. Got to choose between shit colored TNs, the IPS glow meme if you want actual good colors or VA which would be a good middle-ground if it wasn't always fucking curved displays. I miss the simpler days of CRT.

Attached: 247167.jpg (679x729, 52K)

I'd say yes
It's a moot point anyway because you could get a long ass hdmi cable an a long ass usb extender for your controller/wireless dongle, so that you can switch between pc mode and tv mode with one click. Or even without clicking anything if you clone your displays

>press power on button
>at desktop in 10 seconds
>play anything i feel like
where is the fuss exactly? sorry to hear you are incompetent.

>FPS >>> resolution
awful taste

>have an old 1080@144hz benq from the early days of high refresh monitors
>been looking for an upgrade for a couple years now
Narrowing down to a VA panel, uncurved, freesync/gsync, 1440p 144hz panel yields a single result, an LG 32GK850F (eu model, amerifat version may have a different designation)
It has good reviews, I'm thinking of buying it from my next paycheck

as long as we're not dipping below 1080 i'd say it's reasonable

Enjoy your cinematic experience. That'll be 24 fps + dip

Make sure to order it from Amazon user. Amazon's return policy lets you return the monitor if you just don't fucking like it. It saved my ass plenty of times.

Attached: 15559766038662.png (304x314, 121K)

>spending more time trying to find a fix than playing
This is truly hell

I'm not in a country where Amazon operates. I'll have to settle with manufacturer warranty and a local store with good return policies, there are a couple options here.

>emulating a ps2/gc/wii game
>something weird happense
>left pondering if it's an inherent quirk of the game or the problem with your emulation
I hate this

I turn off rumble for games. Just feels like a distraction.

PC gaming is all about MMORPG and multiplayer FPS for me.
It doesn't feel right to play console games on the PC.

>optimised controller connection
nigger you are fucking retarded

He says while he plays most games at 30fps, with Vsync ON, on his TV and on cinema mode

thanks for the tips pc lardasses. I'm buying a PS5 in the near future and your overlord gaben will never see a single sheckle from my wallet, all thanks to you.

stop talking about le master race you stupid sperg.

Do you have the TV in game mode?

>controller connection isn't optimized
effective bait or brain dead. its hard to tell these days.

>No rumble in a mouse or keyboard
This should be a thing. This should have been a thing a long time ago

He actually believed the marketing blurbs. I never thought I'd meet a person like this

It doesn't feel right to play console games on consoles either.

There's something wrong with you.
You can PC game any way you want. You can hook it up to a TV and use a controller like a console. You can user mouse and keyboard.
If you don't like your PC gaming experience, it is your own damn fault.

You're welcome.
ask on the tech board and/or take a look at logicalincrements.com

thinking about this, seems like it would be more annoying than anything else.

MHW is a lot better on PC.

Are people who make posts like this genuinely retarded? Were you held back at school, friend?

define 'feel right'

It's the only thing that feels right.
>getting framedrops on PC
pathetic

Maybe for some people but to most I think they would just view it as the rumble in your phone

thanks

Also that method isn't exactly scientific. If the TV is advertised with X input lag at native resolution in game mode you should have the same results. I refuse to believe an expensive TV from the last 5 years has 50-70ms added input lag in game mode.

Attached: 1532099826295.png (1493x790, 435K)

wait for amd shit to release.

I cant do it. Feels weird to me. As great as Steam is and as much of a giant library of both Steam and non Steam games (including a ton of emulators) that I've accumulated but haven't played yet, I said faid fuck it and bought an Xbox. On PC, all I play are RTS's, Rocket League, city builders, Grand Strat, MMORPGs, etc. I have a Steam Link too but the audio and input lag is too noticeable. Just play vidya on whatever. That's it.

What's funny is PCkeks used to shill both 1440p and 4K 5 years ago already, but after consoles got 4K support it's been "hurr 1080p is more than enough I need muh 144hz for everything".

>4k gaming pc
An instant no. Go for 1440p or 1080p@120fps for gaming, 4k is diminishing returns on current hardware, and you won't see the difference between 1440p and 4k sitting at a regular distance from the screen. 4k is for workstations or working with lots and lots of text.

Looking at the parts:
>i9
fucking overkill, go for i7 8700k for top end vidya power for much cheaper or i5 9600k for great price/performance while still being more than adequate for modern games, or r7 2700x if you're going to do anything multithreaded like streaming/video rendering
>cooler
if you got a stock cooler with a cpu and you're not gonna overclock, then keep the stock one. if you don't have a stock cooler, this one is fine, good reviews and price, don't forget to overclock or it will be wasted
>RTX 2080
this is pretty much the top end apart from 2080ti. you can also get RTX 2070 which should eat up anything at 1080p/144hz or 1440p/60hz. There's also rumors of a new RTX line/upgrade/sidegrade/SOMETHING called "super", so it might be a good time to hold off buying RTX.
>ram
whatever, get the cheapest ddr4 16gb from a reliable manufacturer. you can go for rgb if you're gay. don't forget to install into correct slots
>ssd

all good, might wanna bump to 2x 1tb. buying drives that are more than 1tb isn't recommended because it has a higher risk of failure
>psu
whatever, as long as it has good efficiency and enough wattage for your config. should be good i guess, no idea. google and check the wattage calc
>mobo

>predator
considered top tier, but it's an IPS panel which means it has glow.
I'd personally prefer a VA panel as a compromise between shit glow of IPS and shit viewing angles and colors of TN. If you're fine with curved, pick anything you like with 1440p, 120+hz, g-sync/freesync. If you want flat, you pretty much has this one choice >sound
nigga do whatever. my only advice is to never get a headset, instead get good headphones + a detachable mic like ModMic. Way better quality and reliability for the same price.
also yeti microphones are a meme

Now what do I get for writing this fucking manuscript to you?

>pcfags are deluded enough to think that they can change anything for the better

thanks

shmanks. at least give me your discord or something so i can stop you from making bad pc part decisions in the future

Exactly this
I feel like i am not getting the optimal experience and that ruins the fun.

>No rumble in a mouse or keyboard.
I just imagined a rumbling mouse and keyboard and laughed. So thanks for amusing me. But vibrating controllers was always a retarded gimmick and I can't believe it stuck.
>No local splitscreen.
This is objectively untrue. There are games PC games with local split-screen. I don't understand why the fuck you would think that it's not possible for PC games to have this feature.

1080p@144fps is vastly preferrable to the consoles' 4k@30fps with drops
1440p@144fps seems to be a good middle ground for today's pc hardware and games. You won't push 4k@144fps on modern games even with the most monstrous rig available

It is more of an optimal experience than console

Games at 1080 look fine imo, however movies I'd much prefer to watch in 4k.

This is the least intelligent post i saw all week. Right on par with "320 kbps sounds too sharp, I prefer my mp3s in 192kbps"
options are always better than no options because you can always just leave it at default.

no physical releases

I am honestly so fucking jealous of people who can spend so much on a PC. I wish I had a lot of money. I wish I had the money to buy really awesome parts that could play basically anything at ultra, money for awesome monitors, even money for the gimmicky lights that everyone makes fun of. Sometimes I go online and look at peoples setups with insane envy. Its like I will never have this shit.

Attached: eda64c0a10fb395884fddec13045439b.jpg (2048x1365, 375K)

there is no default. most games have their default set according to your GPU

You need a dedicated gaming PC and then it feels right. No browsing, porn, work, etc.. Also desktop icons ..fuck steam.

on console, if you encounter a bug, you're shit out of luck. you can only bite the pillow and beg developers to patch it in two weeks
on pc if you encounter a bug, you fix it and keep playing. or if you can't be assed, just keep playing without doing anything and just waiting for a patch as if you were on a console. more optionsto you. steam rolls out patches faster than xbl/psn because it doesn't charge devs for every patch.
moreover, with pc configs getting more unified, config-specific bugs are getting less common, especially on nvidia.

tldr: having options is better than not having them. if you don't like having them, you can just never use them

and then once you have it, theres nothing to play.

Attached: 1556730437763.jpg (447x557, 90K)

how often does this open?

some games do have autodetect, but just about every game has the global "low-normal-high-very high" overarching setting which sets all parameters at once. when in doubt, just choose normal, not rocket science

We didn't need rumble because we had screen roll and other effects.

i got this 32" lg panel for $300. 1440p 144hz 4ms with 1ms motion blur reduction. definitely dimmer than my secondary IPS but not terrible.

Attached: IMG_20190224_000738904.jpg (4160x3120, 1.73M)

the only valid point in the entire thread

they can play literally everything aside from a few console exclusives like RDR2 or Bloodborne. Hell they have basically the entire library of games of PS2/GC and before with emulation. Nothing else has that. Then you add onto that, they get most multiplats and the optimal version, plus mods. Its a no brainer. There is more to play than console by leaps and bounds.

so work for it. my rig didn't fall from sky by itself

Same as consoles. Shouldn't have burned yourself out so hard earning money for the rig

two-three times a year iirc, maybe more often

I really hate the fact that you're right. Though I am happy with finding settings that work and if I get minor hiccups it doesn't bother me.

consoles are for casuals, PC is for enthusiasts
and there’s nothing wrong with that

>try to get into RGB
>realize every manufacturer has their own standards and switchers and controllers and bridges and they're not compatible with each other
>if I wanted full RGB coverage, I'd end up with anywhere from three to five+ different apps to control it
I said fuck it. The RGB isn't yet ready, waiting out on an unified standard. It would be nice to have a monitor backlight which mimics the colors of what's on the screen

i can afford an awesome PC and setup, although i dont have so much money that it doesn't feel like a significant investment.

I've been playing a PC with the same components for going on 3 years. I'm gotten thousands of hours of game time on it, as well as a good workstation. You're just making excuses for being a bitch.

There are more games with local splitscreen released on steam in a MONTH than on consoles in the entire last generation.

>You can PC game any way you want. You can hook it up to a TV and use a controller like a console.
This. You can hook it to a tv and make it boot into steam's big picture and only operate it with a controller, the experience will be indistinguishable from a console apart from framerates

I have the Meshify C. I seriously regret getting the tempered glass version instead of the one with metal panels on both sides. The only problem is that I really don't feel like taking apart my whole damned computer just to move it to the other version. Kill me.

Until you inevitably find a game that won't work properly. Gears 4 won't get passed the start screen for me and I have several other friends that have crashes on numerous games.
That's much rarer on console and unless the game is broken for everyone, it's broken for no one.

what the hell is that and why do you sound so smug about it?

shit man you think you got enough cooling? might wanna thror a couple more on the side plate

No soul

>Until you inevitably find a game that won't work properly.

more expensive, requires research, requires knowledge that has extensive time-sinks for it to become truly valuable, requires forum discussions, saving the money, waiting for special price drops for the more expensive parts, then learn how to set it up. Oh it didn't come with X cable, gotta go buy that shit. Ok its not working. Nope not booting. WHY ITS NOT WORKING. Oh okay, forgot to replug that cable, almost have a heart attack. Get it to work. Buy a game. Oh this game doesn't accept my specific weird-ass monitor. Look up mod. Fix resolution. Now all the in-game graphical configs are weird. Have to play multiple minutes to get a feel for what is wrong and what is right and twiddle and fiddle until you find what works for your PC and what doesn't. See video online. WHY DOES HIS GAME LOOK BETTER THAN MINE? See his specs. Its has basically downgraded everything from yours. FUCK.

It’s soulless

RGB looks good, I literally do not understand all the hate.

PC: soul
PS2 era consoles and everything before it: soul
PS3/X360 era and every console after it: no soul

It's gimmicky, garish, and looks dumb as shit. If you like RGB you might be autisitic.

try running a PS2 or even a Wii emulator with some fps or graphical mods/retexture on a RX 570~580 graphics card and compare that to some regular old-ass Nvidia card from a year of two before them and you will know what I mean.

Emulation is its own domain. There's not a word, or an implication about emulation in the original post

while i agree liquid cooling isnt worth it, isnt the liquid non-conductive?

and now it's out of production and goes for like $400USD if you can find one.

consoles lost their soul when the interface became connected to online. the appeal of console to me was that the game you bought was just the game you got and it would be that way forever. no changes or patches.

have sex

sorry, I had to

i got a cheap prebuilt with liquid cooling and ive had no problems at all. my fan never really acts up and i notice no signs of degradation. its may as well just be normal cooling.

Good thing I snagged mine in time.

>It's the same reason people buy those retarded mini consoles
so you see why we think consoles are also retarded, then?

Exactly. It may as well be air cooling, since good air fans are as efficient and as silent as liquid cooling, and many many times more reliable and durable, and don't require maintenance.

>p-p-pc has soul

Did you ever try the steam controller? I'm really sad for the lack of native support for it in games, since the controller itself is an impressive piece of hardware, and the haptics are the best I've seen on any IO device.

with consoles the guts are mostly the same the same save for revisions so games run consistently on hardware, with pc there are so many variables and combonations theres always gonna be few that will be kinda fucky i feel, try changing your rigs insides out

I haven't, but i have heard some mixed things about it. I have been using a Xbone controller.

Yeah that’s the most common problem

got a laptop after not having a computer for like 8 years and only had consoles. it is badass for the price i payed($190), but not exactly gaming laptop, and i am pushing it to the limits with some of the games im trying to play, and everytime i have to basically perform magic to get them running decently. it is pretty fun though not gonna lie, searching the net for optimization mods and figuring out which settings are causing the issues and when i finally get it running smoothly it's a great feeling. thank fuck for optifine and FAR for nier automata, etc

>get a g pro wireless

>literally the absolute best side buttons on the market, big, ergonomic, solid, clicky and generally a pleasure to use
>but it's heavier, glides worse, main button clicks are a bit blurry, and the scroll wheel is pretty trash, both scroll and click
If the GPW had side buttons with the quality of those on the DA, it would've been literally the best mouse on planet earth. I mean right now they're absolutely good enough, but not perfect like those on DA.

Attached: iu.jpg (1024x683, 81K)

also ive always been a poorfag and jealous like user up there at people with expensive fancy setups... so i went on amazon and got myself a rechargeable wireless mouse for $13 with ridiculous glowing throbbing rainbow lights and extra buttons, feels good man (piece of shit but i love it)

But there is mouses that vibrate already.

It's a mixed bag because for the console games a console controller is usually better, and for M+kb games, M+KB is better.
But it's a very interesting middle ground. In some games which benefit from both analog movement and aiming precision (like GTA or console TPS games) it can be the best of both worlds. And as I said before, the haptics are amazing. When you're aiming with the gyro, it creates an illusion of twisting the controller on a physical pivot, which I never thought was even possible. The gyro latency is also nearly impercetible, unlike wii and ds4.

Honestly, I would prefer if it had a d-pad instead of the left trackpad, that would've made it feel better with console games. But I guess valve had a different thing in mind when designing it, apparently they wanted it to be a replacement for M+KB so that you could play literally anything on it.

Also yeah, it has the left grip and right grip buttons, under your middle/ring fingers. More fucking controllers should have those, very useful for doing stuff without taking thumbs off the stick/pads

t. 10 to 5 years ago

>15-30ms
This is fucking shit, though.
TVs did get improved massively but 15ms of input lag is unacceptable.
Even shit tier monitors have it under 10ms. Anything decent is usually around 5ms.

i like shit with pretty lights. i know people think its tacky. but i think it looks cool and gives it kind of an expensive, fancy feel

Buy a vibrator already

Found the retard that lives and breathes nu/pol/ garbage.

I hate having to tinker with EVERYTHING. Every game has this process to get it to optimize graphics settings and set up the controls. God forbid you get into modding and spend more time nursing your load list than actually playing the game. Consoles are just less finicky (and often have more of the games I want to play). Something about playing a game at a PC also just isn't relaxing.

TV setup, even looks comfier than console

Attached: q7xjti2tdza21.jpg (640x480, 48K)

my samsung qled has 12ms lag in 4k and 9ms lag in 1440p 120hz mode.

basically this is fine because im not autistic esports fag. can still body people in csgo and rocketleague tho ezpz

my pc monitor is 9ms as well

Leave settings on default or use autodetect. Don't use mods. No tinkering required.

>God forbid you get into modding and spend more time nursing your load list than actually playing the game.
The last time that happened to me is in 2006 when Oblivion was released.

>Something about playing a game at a PC also just isn't relaxing.

Attached: the hell.jpg (203x209, 14K)

Because you frequently use it for things other than gaming. Computers aren't just things you turn on to play a game and turn off; you'll browse the internet with it, do work with it, multitask, etc etc. It's versatility prevents it from being focused solely on a game experience. Not a bad thing, but it is the reason it doesn't feel like a "gaming machine" because it's much more than that.

PS4 input is more consistent with each press compared to PC.

Attached: inputcontollag.png (1920x1080, 989K)

>Being such a mouth breathing retard that you find the extra input lag and shit image quality acceptable.

Nothing is "futureproof"

i feel just right with emulation and playing my porn games thank you very much. dunno what your problem is.

Steam links are shit and have a shit decoder chip that adds 15-20ms over a little Intel compute stick with quiksync

Also, streaming games in general is for retards who have such slow reflexes the extra 50ms of input lag and severely reduced image quality doesn't register in their brain

Xbox One controllers are the official windows 10 controller. Why is it not showing a Microsoft controller with a Microsoft os?

Shit recommendations. The 2080 is a terrible price/performance ratio. You're better off buying a 1080ti.

Why recommend a ryzen 2700x when Ryzen 2 is out in like 2 weeks? Its going to shake up the market quite a bit.

Intel's stock coolers are woefully inadequate even at stock clocks. They will throttle

If you want them to spend 800 on a video card and a high end overclockable processor "just any motherboard" is not a good recommendation.

You didn't mention memory speed or timings, which are very important, especially to ryzen

You're one of those people that thinks that buying all the current fad parts for thousands of dollars and throwing them together without having a clue what you're doing will ensure a nice PC, aren't you?

I'm the opposite. Playing every game at 60+FPS alone, even discounting everything else ruins most console games for me. I keep consoles around for exclusive games, everything else is played on PC and I often sell my console version of a game if a PC version comes out later
That said: What the FUCK happened to console exclusives? Last gen I wanted a PS3 just to games like pic related that never came to PC, this gen nothing AA or above can hold my attention that I can't get on PC, besides maybe Death Stranding and Last of Us II, and the games on Switch, but switch emulation is coming along.

Attached: sucesso-nos-livros-com-referencias-a-cultura-geek-e-pop-e-jogo-scott-pilgrim-vs-the-world-so-reforca (1200x800, 269K)

The enjoyment level difference between a upper mid range and a high end PC is very small. You reach a point of diminishing returns

Doubtful your tv is actually 120hz, and isn't just a 60hz panel with interpolation

This. My 2nd gen i7 and HD7970 are all I need, and will need until next gen forces an actual upgrade.

Aren't you glad that exclusives are dying if you have a pc? What Xbox has been doing is great.

Consoles will never, ever die no matter how much mustards want them to. Because the concept of a machine that remains in your living room directly hooked up to your tv, that serves the primary purpose of playing video games and nothing else is simply put, far too attractive to the average consumer. PlayStations will never, ever stop selling.

No one wants to play games on a little computer desk, or on their laptop, and the vast majority of people don't want to connect a tv to their pc when most likely their work desk is somewhere else from the tv. It's just too inconvenient. Having a controller that has a button that turns on the console and your tv instantly, then switches your tv to the correct hdmi input, and then just immediately brings up a screen where you can choose which game you want to run? it's the definition of convenience, playstation 4 sales do all the talking.

Like yes, you can do all kinds of things to connect your pc to a tv, but it's just not the same experience no matter what. You're using a device most people associate with word processing, checking email and browsing the internet for the sake of playing games, that a lot of people don't even really know or care to understand that you can do. Again, too inconvenient.

I remember one time a friend of mine and I tried to play a match of Guilty Gear Xrd on PC. I had the PS4 version of -Sign-, but I bought Revelator on PC because I figured it would be better. What a goddamn mistake. Trying to configure multiple controllers to actually register in the game was a nightmare, we spent over an hour trying to figure out how to get it to work to just use a dualshock 4 and his xbox controller on my pc, eventually we just gave up. So, we ended up turning on the PS4 and playing our match there. And it just fucking worked.

That's why consoles are never, ever going to die: they just work. And with something as innovative as the Switch on the market, there's room for consoles themselves to evolve.

Attached: sony wins again kaz.jpg (969x619, 69K)

Maybe, but it also means considering buying a console for the 2-3 games that remain exclusive and nothing else, and then the console becoming a paperweight as soon as you've played them all. Exclusives will never really die, they'll just remain in this state if nothing else.

Fractal Define R5

If consoles are killed by anything, it will be shitty streaming devices with a monthly fee, not PCs

>Trying to configure multiple controllers to actually register in the game was a nightmare, we spent over an hour trying to figure out how to get it to work to just use a dualshock 4 and his xbox controller on my pc, eventually we just gave up. >The two controllers that steam natively supports
You're right, if you're retarded you should stay on consoles.

>College student
>No student debt
>exempt from tuition
>$6,500 in stocks

I can build my wealth and invest it or get a budget 1k PC that I’ve always wanted. Do you guys stare at your steam library, full of games, and feel like it’s absolutely pointless? Do you wish you could give it away and get every cent back. I’m looking for real advice here.

Are you really trying to sound smug over the fact that you can't move some things and plug some things into eachother?

Attached: C5h0A1QU4AAgxV8.jpg (900x1200, 191K)

The only remaining console exclusive still coming out is maybe Halo. They haven't announced that for pc. We'll see what happens

yeah except most console gamers have already stated they vehemently oppose this kind of thing, no one is excited for google stadia. Maybe in the farflung future where internet speeds are basically instant.

that's the thing, they both worked alone and yet to get them to both work in game at the same time, just to do a simple couch versus match was basically impossible. At the end of the day, I've never in my entire life had so much difficulty trying to get two controllers to work in a game. whether it was shitty programming on the developer's end or what, I don't know. In the end we both just stopped fucking caring and turned on the playstation.

if you can make a video of yourself getting a dualshock 4 and xbox controller to both work in guilty gear xrd on pc, be my guest. But that's just the thing: it should never reach the point where I have to do some shit like look up a video.

At the end of the day pcs are only good for fps games and rts games, specifically because of mouse and keyboard. For everything else it's just better on consoles.

of course you can do that, but it's just not convenient.

Dude even with that setup, think about what you're doing. You have to go use a mouse and keyboard in your living room on the sofa or something (already sounds mad uncomfortable), then you have to launch steam or whatever, choose your game, then you finally start playing. And that's not even counting the part where you turn both the pc and the tv on and select the right hdmi input.

Literally this is all you do with a playstation, from the point of both the console and tv being completely turned off

1. Press and hold the PS button
2. Press X to choose your profile
3. Select your game

The fact that you don't see how much more convenient a console is is kind of baffling. Again: for certain games (fps and rts) pc is better, just because of input.

Attached: 17 nigga.jpg (450x511, 42K)

Came here to say this, because it's an indisputable fact. It's a control thing - when you don't have it (console), you accept it, but when you do (PC) you can't. It's on you to 'fix' it, but the problem is that means something different to each individual. If I have to turn down the resolution from 1440p to 1080p, I may as well just kill myself.

PCs at least in the West hardly got any major Japanese games until recently so it was easy to think consoles were the only place to play good games.
