Should I buy a Vita, Yea Forums?

Should I buy a Vita, Yea Forums?
I can get one on eBay used for something like $150. How worth it is it considering homebrew, emulation and exclusives?

Get it cheaper on craigslist

>Should I buy a Vita, Yea Forums?
Yes user, buy a Vita.

It's a weeb machine. So if that tickles your fancy go for it.

If the listing your getting it from is the listing I'm thinking about, have fun being at the mercy of economy shipping.

make sure it's on the right frameware, 3.60 is compatible with base henkaku, some (but not all) of the following ones are compatible with h-encore, and 3.69/3.70 i believe are compatible with trinity. you use henkaku in the end regardless of what entry exploit you use, though.
for emulators it can do fourth gen or earlier as well as ps1 and psp
for piracy it's good if you like weeb games
the main competition is the 3ds, but it beats the 3ds except for gba games (which 3ds can do natively with injection) and 3d porn

Does it run Sega saturn and dreamcast efficiently?

I'm still waiting for my Jap Vita to get shipped. Fucked around and put cfw on my N3DS to keep myself busy. I even messed around with my older shit and in the process found out my flashcart stopped working and my DSLite stopped reading carts. Kinda depressing.

no you shouldnt
got one for less than $30 from a friend, got bored of it within days and gave it to my youngest brother
buy a switch or a 3ds instead

forgot to mention most wortwhile exclusives are also in the ps4 if you really want to play gravity rush (the shittiest game ever imo) or fuck i dont know, utawarerumono?

OP here. I own a switch and a modded 3ds, and I'm buying a PS4 in September.
Another question. How is the ps4 modding community? Emulation any good?

>$150
no
if you can find it for 70 or less than maybe it's worth it if you really like weebshit

>buying a PS4 1 year before the backwards compatible PS5 launches
ISHYGDDT

>Sony hasn’t even announced a new console yet but it’s coming out in a year
>Microsoft announces a new console, coming “soon”

something doesn’t add up user

I'm ok with it because the PS4 slim is cheap right now and the launch ps5 will not be as good as it could be, might have some hardware issues. I'm just being careful, my gf and I have some ps4 games we want to catch up on because neither of us have actually owned a Sony console before.

I used my vita as an on the go ps1 and psp emulator more than playing the exclusives. Too many games are horribly optimized and I fucking hate drpg's, which is the majority of the library.

>buying first release electronics
>ever

Always wait for the for the 2nd, improved iteration or atleast a special edition. They normally cost more but come with a game to offset it, by that time the console will have a decent library, and it'll be worth far more later if you want to sell it.

Do it, consoles usually get good games 3 years into its lifespan. So you got about 4 years of catch up before getting a ps5 would be justifiable. There's a shit ton of excellent games for the system if you dig around.

Are you a weeb and like weeb games?
if so get it
if all you play is western games, dont really bother with it

Yeah, neither of us are huge sony freaks yet. We want to play Shenmue 1-3, the Ghibli RPG, Death Stranding, Metal Gear V, GTA V, Persona V, cowboy video game 2, Resident Evil and Sonic Racing Transformed
Any other must plays for the console? I really like RPGs and my girlfriend really likes games with good art to look at (she isnt as picky as me, but we like playing together and laughing :-)

Maybe I'll buy this just to say I have it.
I like DQ a lot and i want to collect the exclusive consoles. Not a Heroes head but Builders is okay, i guess.

Probably expensive as shit, user.

You can hack every firmware as of now. In fact, they recommend you update to 3.70 if you're on 3.68-3.69 because it's supposedly easier to hack.
Iirc when I hacked mine a month ago I went from 3.67 to 3.65 to 3.60 spoofed to 3.70. It was a pain in the ass, but now ive got dissidia 012 on a big screen.

Yeah um

Gonna buy the metal slime 2ds instead. It's more practical, i like it more, and it's like, $300 cheaper.

3.65 is the golden firmware, buddy.

You still downgrade to 3.65 then spoof to 3.70, but it doesn't look that hard. I'll shill this dude here because his guides are the only ones I use for the this type of shit
