Your boosts remaining is based off your maximum boost capacity divided by 1k since you spend 1k each boost, but you don't actually get any usable points unless you do quests

I didn't get to see him very often because I was in school, but I'm living back at my parents' house again, and I've been concerned with his missing and loose feathers. He has looked worse in the past, but he still seems a little battered. Is this something I should be worried about? Can I remove these feathers without hurting him?
