Personally, I really liked the Spectrobes games on the DS and Wii.
I'm currently looking forward to Monster Crown, Monster Sanctuary, and Coromon.
I like the designs of the familiars from Ni No Kuni

Not sure about R4 but I have an Acekard and I thing their software is similar and I have to activate an "Disable AP checks" cheat on some games

Enjoy, it takes everything the first two do and does it way better. Definitely one of the more underrated Wii games.

Spectrobes was way better than a Disney game had any right to be. How the hell did it happen, anyways? It wasn't a tie-in, and there was no movie or show as far as I'm aware.

Spectrobes was one of the few non-Pokemon games I've beaten on the DS as a kid. It's such a shame it never went anywhere after the Wii release, not even in Japan. Speaking of the Wii release, I remember being so hyped for it. I'd constantly go on the website and search for any kind of news there was on it but I never actually bought or played it. That's one I'll definitely go through one day.
Would the battle network series loosely fall under this?

I think conceptually, it's still collecting stuff to make progress, but it's more "chips" than the net navis, right?
Different user, too many vivos to choose from. But I always use Dimetro (starter but whatever.) I also love using Angato, Mihu, Nodo, Alxas (Frontier.) Also recently used T. Rex & Lord in a replay of Champions, didn't think they'd be that broken.

why not? i just got yo-kai watch 3 on my hacked 3ds. It's an amazing game. Does everything for me that I wish Pokemon could do again.
