It's not fun to be chaining a boost, being on track for a decent time, then get interrupted by a missle, clock or thunder orb.

I'm not autist enough to speedrun beyond the ghost times in time trials, I guess I'm just done with the game, sucks because I haven't enjoyed a new game this much in a long time.

I tried playing this for the first time yesterday and I couldn't stand it. I kept falling off the track, and even if I jumped off a speed ramp sometimes it still wasn't enough to get me over it and I land below the track and fall off again and it took me forever to figure out how drifting worked with the speed boost. It's also fucking impossible to recover from last place

I'm finding more and more that I am using Speed characters for CNK tracks, Turn characters for CTR tracks with 90 degree turns and Accel for every other track.

I wonder what happened there.

PS4 has an extra track (Retro Stadium), which brings its total to 32 tracks. But as far as time trials are concerned, the game is coded to only have 31 tracks. So if you attempt a time trial for a 32nd track (whichever track is your 32nd one), the game freaks out. This apparently results in the loss of save data.

The game has 31 tracks, however the PS4 has a 32nd exclusive track. However they forgot to make space in the save file to save your time for a 32nd stage, so when you do your last time trial, it overwrites some other area of the save, and corrupts.

Avoid having a time trial saved in all 32 tracks. So if you haven't already done Retro, then yes just don't do Retro.

I have mixed feelings about that statement. I think, in general, the CNK tracks are more fun than the CTR ones. But I think that's because they're easier tracks. They're built for drift boosting and are full of USF pads. So yes, they're more fun, but I wouldn't say that makes them better. Kinda takes the feeling of accomplishment out of a good race.

normal boost is from successful turbo boosts from power sliding (L1 and R1)
sacred fire is going over a turbo pad, you can skid over it to keep it longer(?) and keep it by having reserves and perfect boosting with it
ultimate sacred fire (I just call it blue fire) is gained from going over a super turbo pad, you usually keep it by having high reserves (lots of perfect boosts built up throughout the race), and you can skid immediately after landing if it's gained from a height, you don't need to perfect boost to keep it, hitting a wall removes it

I see it as orange > bright orange and white > blue, and the flames grow in size after each one

also since I'm not fully sure myself, once you have USF does performing perfect boosts keep the reserves full, or keep building it?

Perfect gives you more reserves and USF eats reserves like nothing, so it is better to go for it but hopefully you have enough by the point of USF boosts that you don't need to build too much more.

I feel like the clock needs to be changed a lot in terms of how it works vs everyone in the game. It should be like the lightning bolt in mario kart except scale it up massivly if someone has a massive lead. Im talking 10+ seconds of slowage if the person in last uses it on a person whos in 1st halfway to lapping them.

Of course change it per track as well because getting that fucked on a short track when youre in first is shitty.

The blue orb only targets everyone if you have the wumpa boost. Otherwise it only targets 1st place, and the rest can avoid it by not being in a direct line with its path.

Hop+Hold back+Brake. Let go of brake before hitting the ground.

You earn more coins playing online than you do single player. You get a significant bonus for the first few races every day, on average you earn somewhere between 20-60 per race, but while the bonus is active, you will earn around 200-600 per race.

Deadass theres no one getting those numbers anymore for the first races.

Maybe, but it depends on what race you're playing on. Tiny Arena and Oxide station are the two maps that give the largest amount of coins, so might be because only 2 of the entire list of maps give that high coin payout.

they give huge payouts but i came first on oxide stage in one of my first games tonight and got about 180 for it.

Most important thing, you gotta keep that USF. A triple slide boost inside the speed tunnel, another triple slide boost in the long turn, some more boosts where you can fit them in in that long hallway, and then the actually hard part of keeping it until the next USF pad. Then, do the same around the rest of the track.
N. Gin Labs is the single easiest track to keep USF the whole way around. Practice it in Time Trials.

the class system needs a rework, there is absolutely no reason to play anything besides speed and balanced

the former is virtually the best class but it still has drawbacks, especially online. Balanced are a valid alternative in tracks with tight corners and all the bullshit online throws at you.
Everything else is fucking pointless and completely outclassed by balanced, accel has zero redeeming qualities and turn offer a very negligible benefit but still loses too much.
Those characters should just be dumped into speed and balanced so everybody can main their favorite without being at a disadvantage.
