How much more powerful was the N3DS to the 3DS?
They should make the pro just a normal console
As strong as the WiiU maybe
a quarter more powerful
>Pro
>weaker than the base model
The regular switch is weaker than the WiiU
as powerful as a 15 year old cellphone
Are you retarded?
Considering even Smartphones have more Horsepower than the Switch, who knows.
>Considering even Smartphones have more Horsepower than the Switch
Not with that throttling.
he right though. Switch is an underclocked and undervolted base tegra X1, the dock is just an hdmi port encased in plastic.
Yes, smartphones at 3x the Switch's price.
Yes, but that's besides the point. The switch can't even manage to port ps3/360 era games well.
imagine still caring about a console's specifications in 2019
the games are what matters, not the parts inside
so long as a game runs at a minimum of stable 30fps, it's playable. 60 is obviously better, but if you spend even a quarter of a milisecond debating about this shit then you're likely one of those turbovirgins who gets extremely autistic about his pc's thermals and overclock speeds and whatever the fuck.
just play the games, you babies.
>Switch is an underclocked and undervolted base tegra X1
Do you even know what system he's comparing it to and what's in said system? You can dislike it but it's not going to change the fact that it's stronger.
So 1080p 60 fps? But not PS4 "Full HD" more to PS4 pro 1080p 60fps which runs games like RDR2 at a good framerate with good graphics.
>The switch can't even manage to port ps3/360 era games well.
No shit, no one wants to port them so they cheap out on it that's why you see games made for the PS4 that can run better on it.
>he doesn't know the pocaphone
keep seething shitchlet
The same system that can run Breath of the Wild at the same frame rate.

Dude, BOTW runs worse on the Wii U.
>pocaphone
>300
>throttled to hell
>can barely play sonic 2
>chinkshit
Well since the vita is officially a dead handheld, the switch pro will come out on top with handheld graphics better than the ps4. The tegra x1 in the system is very powerful.
Not by much. Your only estimate is overclocking the existing Switch by using homebrew. The increase is more apparent in handheld mode though.
So +50% power. Make sense to me.
If at the very least it can run Breath of the Wild at full 1080p and locked 30 fps it will be good. But I'm holding my hopes that it will even reach that point with the upgrade.
mobile technology has been going at an insane pace due to smartphones.
if a Pro is coming it wouldn't be surprising to see a decently large jump but you likely would only see performance improvements on games that run alright on the base model, maybe with less scaling resolution needed.
Nintendo has actually patched the system to overclock the system during loading screens to shorten them, quite a large improvement on the games it is used for but in-game it goes back to the base clock so no improvement there (likely a concern for the cooling solution in the system)
I'm not concerned with the system's hardware too much. Games look great, really the only thing I'd want is being able to run undocked games with docked quality which you can already sort of do with a hacked switch anyway
No, I'm more concerned about the size, portability and battery life. I like the concept of the switch but as is it's an awful handheld. Too big to be portable, less comfortable to hold than the 3ds, and the battery makes it bassically useless as a handheld. They need to fix those things before making it arbitrarily more powerful
nearly nothing
Guess why I know you own a WiiU
this guys has sex on a regular basis
Switch:
>8 core 1.9GHz ARMv8 64-bit CPU
>4 GB LPDDR4 unified system memory w/ 25GB/s bandwidth
>500 GFLOPS Nvidia Maxwell Based GPU
>32 GB SSD
>dual band wireless (802.11ac)
Wii U:
>Tri-core 1.2GHz 32-bit IBM PowerPC "Espresso" CPU
>2 GB DDR3 RAM
>350 GFLOPS AMD Radeon "Latte"
>32 GB SSD
>802.11b/g/n wireless
The Switch is much better than the wii U
Well it made the difference in porting Xenoblade Chronicles and being the only noteworthy "exclusive" the NEW 3DS had.
>even smartphones
dude the switch was a generation old re-branded nvidia shield tablet, with 150 dollars slapped on top. It's a piece of shit spec-wise
current smartphones obliterate it
Assuming it comes 2020, it will advance as much as mobile tech advances in 3 years while keeping the same price.
Switch:
>4 core 1.02GHz ARM57 64-bit CPU
>4 GB LPDDR4 unified system memory w/ 25GB/s bandwidth
>392 GFLOPS Nvidia Maxwell Based GPU
>32 GB SSD
>dual band wireless (802.11ac)
But that's wrong? See international.download.nvidia.com
Doesn't matter, games will still be 30fps.
still less powerful than the base ps4/xbone, let alone the next generation. nintendo is cheap.
techpowerup.com
The SoC of switch is not the same as Nvidia X1
>Cheap
but the next gen will literally be watered down PC parts put in a box?
The clock speeds are adjustable in software to the same level as TX1. It just gets kinda hot is the catch
Chad Warden became a lawyer and a father
and the switch will continue to be bargain-bin tablet parts put in a box.
Powerful enough to play the exact same games as the normal Switch, because that's how console development works.
The Joy Con would never drift.
so it's a Tegra X1 that running at less than half it's full potential. A Wii U, essentially.
By your logic, I could also theoretically overclock the Wii U to get even better performance than a switch.
Xbone on the go
it's nintendo. the joycon would drift MORE to force people to buy even more overpriced replacements.
It has the power to use Yea Forums.
literally just wait for yuzu to reach dolphin-tier performance
If it is a dedicated home console (no portable), it could actually be quite a bit
otherwise it will be what the N3DS was to the 3DS
Even undocked Switch is more powerful than Wii U
>Caring about a slightly more powerful version of the Blurtendo Smudge
lmao
More powerful than a switch
Less powerful than my two year old phone
Switch: Super Saiyan Vegeta
Switch Pro: Android 18
Switch is already optimized and balanced. When will people understand? There's a fine balance between performance / battery life / heat / size / price, and the Switch is already reaching an optimal balance.
Phone schmone. Calle me when you can play without overheating the shit out your phone.
Could it feasibly use the Tegra X2? Seems like a shit idea trying to make games that would work with both the stronger and weaker models
>Splatoon Royale
So we'll see more blacked/full_nelson porn of the Switch Pro? I'm on board.
>optimal balance
>22nm
Dumb nincel
as powerful as a ps4/xbox one.
> Updated SoC based on a refreshed Tegra X1 - higher default clock speed(s), slightly more power efficient than the launch Switch
> 6GB LPDDR4 RAM
> Same screen size and resolution
Fix the fucking joycons.
almost as powerful as a ps3
update your fucking firmware
