How do you justify still buying games nowadays?

How do you justify still buying games nowadays?
Most games have some aspects of it I absolutely don't want to finance/encourage.

All I buy is small indie games without any of that shit, I pirate everything else.

>wahhhh game companies want to feed their families by having OPTIONAL dlc and micro transactions in their gamesp
>waahhhhhh there are women and minorities in MY games now
Have sex.

Why would steam be the thing that makes you start buying games?

DLC, pre orders and season pass was a thing thing in 2012 you fucking cuck. Nobody said anything about uplay etc. Just admit that it's because of china you fucking redditor. Imagine being such a sóyboy you search for excuses to pirate

I justify it because i'm an adult with a job and money to enjoy my hobby.

I can afford it, my time is increasingly limited due obligations so i don't feel like verifying what do and don't fill their shit and sites with bitcoin miners and keeping up with having a good ratio on private trackers, im also not is a activist mindset and more of a one that what i do and do not buy has no influence on the industry between having games i skipped do well, and games i bought multiple copies of do poorly.

Good on anyone who wants to pirate though, but i see it as a Time and Effort vs Money weighting and for me personally blowing 10-80 bux on a game isn't that much of a expense when compared to time needed to Seed and double check releases, Time i could spend actually playing the games.

wtf, is this real? DELETE THIS ASAP

Does GoG have DRM, or “you just have a license to play the game”?

Just curious

Nigger faggot

You clearly weren't there when Steam became popular.

GoG does not have a DRM; You can download EXE's that install with no additional licensing or identification. They have an additional manager client as well if you want something like that, but I never saw the point.

>Does GoG have DRM
No.

Attached: Better_platform_than_Epic_AND_Steam.png (1087x343, 173K)

I want to show appreciation to the developers who invested time into making the game, and finance the possibility of them making more games that I will most likely buy.

So I keep my games and can also put them in a CD?

I'm a complete pleb faggot and am afraid to ask anywhere else. when you pirate an older game what do you do when it asks you provide a cd key?

Steam wasn't good back then, it just provided a platform where you could purchase most PC games and it sometimes had discounts.
It never made me not pirate and nowadays I only buy from GoG but still pirate most of it.

You dont change anything in life. Cope reply again plz so you can waste a captcha

you can save your game installers to a CD, bury it in the desert, come back 10 years later and install it on a completely different PC without ever having to log back in or use the internet to do so.
They're literally DRM-free installer files.

Yes.

I just play decade old games because new games are shit.

Lol, who cares?

i make plenty of money, because i’m an adult

Any other store that does similar stuff like GoG?

Humble Bundle sells some* of their games DRM-free, the majority are steam keys instead though so you have to check.

You look for keygen, keys or crack, they are usually bundled with the download, but that depends on your source of downloads. Sometimes old DOS games are already patched and you can enter whatever - it will pass as a key.

Thank you.

You either get a cracked exe that doesn't need a key, or you get a keygen/text file with pirated keys.

Thanks

Is that all the DRM-free stores?

Because they're fanboys but they won't admit it

Unfortunately this is also the reason why their selection is garbage

NO NO NO
DELETE THIS RIGHT NOW

pretty much.

sjw's were right all along

Isn't it funny how leftists are now the biggest fucking cheerleaders for corporate America?

why this nigga got steam on they tv

well, updating pirated games is kinda of a chore, but even then it depends on the game.
I just pirate it because my friends are playing it, and i dont have as much money as they have to buy a game every week.
If i could i would buy it

I buy on GOG with a Russian VPN, so the games cost me cents.
Also, the new GOG Galaxy 2.0 can link to the other store profiles and can be your only one launcher.

Before Steam it was more convenient to pirate a game than to go to the store or wait on shipping.

Steam's whole pitch was to make it so convenient to buy and play games that people would rather pay than go through finding a torrent and cracking it.

while I get the argument for movies
why is still valid for videogame stores, except for Epic?

Convience and features. I pirate Ubisoft games though because fuck UPlay.

>expresses an opinion not regarding politics
>H...HE MUST BE A LEFTIE!

OH NO NO NO WTF MORALBROS THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING TO US

Attached: 1532464387484.png (432x616, 215K)

Yes.

Use the keygen or the .exe replacement, it's usually written in the ReadMe or in the torrent description.

>i make money therefore it's okay to spend it like a retard and support kike marketing methods and cultural corruption of games

Because he has an HDMI cable plugged in his computer.

>updating pirated games is kinda of a chore
True, that's why I usually pirate a game that's one year old or something.

Most games are not fully released until like a year after their original release, because of all DLC and other kikeries.

>Also, the new GOG Galaxy 2.0 can link to the other store profiles and can be your only one launcher.
Partially false. It acts as a shortcut, if you launch a Steam game from GOG2.0, it will open Steam then open the game.

>Isn't it funny
It's kinda sad really. Next thing you know he will say he is a leaf.

>one shortcut that is not part of the default ones
>terraria

>one bookmark

Based autistic /pol/ack.

Itch.io
It doesn't get many games, but just like GOG the client is optional and you download drm-free .exe files.

I wanna go back, go back
And I don't even know how I got off the track

can we see your terraria world, user?

Kill yourself

If you are seriously inconvenienced by downloading an additional program to play your luxury entertainment product I have to wonder how you handle real life.

>How do you justify still buying games nowadays?
Why would I need to justify it if I know what I like?

>lefties
>for corporatism
The same ones saying eat the rich and to kill all wealthy individuals?

Launchers aren't products and only the most autistic retarded fat manchildren care which .exe they need running to play a game. You may as well not play a game because it needed an anti cheat or OpenAL.

i buy single-player games because i'd like them to keep being made, rather than have an industry full of nothing but online multiplayer live-service trash with increasingly cancerous monetization practices.

we recently reached unskippable in-game ads
mirai fucking zura

>allow me to conveniently ignore all arguments except the one I can strawman
You're retarded, and even the first panel shows that he agreed with Steam.

You have nothing to say and should stay quiet.

They don't say that anmore. Now they want to kill the white male middleclass.

There is no argument. Every launcher does the same shit, serve as a DRM check to play the game which is the actual fucking product. Everything past that you're crying that achievement unlocked doesn't pop in the corner when you do what the devs told you too like a good boy.
Launchers aren't fucking products, and everytime someone says "Steam or I'll pirate" they fucking admit this, if you give such a shit about launcher features the game would be unplayable still because piracy has no bullshit overlays either. Quit having goddamn autism and just admit you're a drone.

>keeps ignoring everything he can't argue against
Again, stay quiet, consumerist cuck.

Keep ignoring sunlight as you larp as an anarchist on a weeb cartoon message board

There's GamersGate (they require a downloader but always offer DRM-free installers), FireFlower Games (they charge in euros), Playism (not always, but there's a warning), Humble Store (rare nowadays, but there's a warning), itch.io (some publishers, like Plug-In-Digital, only offer Steam keys), Zoom Platform (GOG.com says they're a legit seller, but they still list Race Driver GRID and the old Duke Nukem games). And that's about it, I guess.

Nowerdays I only buy games on GoG, post AAA games are uninteresting so I go back to older games, I also like to buy complete products that I can actually own and backup, I already have a big enough backlog anyway so its not like I need more games currently.

Want to pirate. Don't know how. Where should I start?

>Launchers aren't a product

Attached: 1558128189332.jpg (468x895, 46K)

I think you replied to the wrong post, pal.

Yeah.
I feel retarded.

Attached: 1552341442599.png (591x716, 322K)

This doesn't even correlate

Dilate, cope and cringe/blue pilled

They offered cheap games when no one else did. There's also the no CD on drive thing. I never really used it (besides a purchase of two games and getting a free copy of Portal), but I can see the appeal it had at the time.

No DRM. However, you should have into account that offline installers aren't updated as often as the Galaxy versions.

You gonna keep making up shit?

I'm not paying 60 dollars for a fraction of a game. I'd rather just get it for free.

>he hasn't been pirating games since middle school / early high school
Oh how you missed out
