Will the PS5/Scarlett really do native 4k?

I had originally been holding out to buy a 4k display when the PS5/Scarlett get released, but am I better off getting a nice 1080p to replace my old one with bad specs?

Is 4k going to continue being a meme?

My crystal ball predicts the console will output 900p resolution upscaled to 4k resolution with 30fps because eye of average console player cant tell a difference anyway.

>Will the PS5/Scarlett really do native 4k?
Of course not you fucking retard.
>Is 4k going to continue being a meme?
Yes you idiot.

It will most likely support it, yes.
None of the games will work well on those settings, though. Even PCs struggle a little bit to break 4k/60hz, games are going to be unplayable in true 4k on consoles for at least one more generation.

On the bright side, this means that there's a small chance they'll let you play games in "non 4k" mode, which might make them run better in HD

>Falling for the 4k meme
Lmao, 144hzlets are pathetic.

So am I better off just replacing my 59hz 1080p LCD screen from 2008 with a 144hz 1080p IPS?

>Will the PS5/Scarlett really do native 4k?
No. More like upscaled 4K
>I had originally been holding out to buy a 4k display when the PS5/Scarlett get released, but am I better off getting a nice 1080p to replace my old one with bad specs?
Right now, most 1080p displays are cheap to buy
>Is 4k going to continue being a meme?
Yes on only console. On PC, it is not meme.

>1080p
What, no, 1440p is the sweet spot and will remain so for arguably a decade. 4k will not latch on for vidya until the PS6 comes out

Guys, PS5 or a budget PC? Not getting a ps4 since its soon to be outdated. PS users, are you happy with the exclusives on the ps4?

>impying consoles will even reach 144, let alone 60 fps
Jesus fuck user you are even more retarded than you let on in your OP.

There are several native 4k Xbox One X games.

PS4 Pro hits native 4k in at least one "big" game (Wipeout Omega Collection) and I'm sure several indies.

4k is already here mate.

Will PS5 support 1440p? I'm getting an IPS 165hz G-sync 1440p monitor.

>IPS 165hz G-sync 1440p monitor
Do you also have a beefy PC rig to push those numbers? If not that's going to be a huge waste of money.

Hope that shit also has hdr because if not then what the fuck are you doing

What is likely to be the best display to plug a PS5 or Xbox Scarlett into?

A really nice 1080p or a 4k? Tv or monitor?

The best display would be a 4k 120hz freesync monitor or tv. Scarlett and PS5 claim to support 120hz along with freesync. My guess is support will be a visual option at lower resolution to push games at 120 frames or something, maybe more limited than I believe. But to get a monitor with those specs would cost a shit ton. There are also TVs that support these specs now though also and here's a list:

Do you seriously have to ask? One is locked down machine where you cant even fix broken game or force antialiasing on or choose your prefered controlls or outright remap controlls without the games support while the other is machine which can do literally everything you want.

Just get a 3K display instead.

Consoles are for living room TVs, and yes you should have a 4k TV in your living room user. They are cheap, you could even get a decent brand like Samsung for around $400(50" and hdr10).

Monitors are for PCs, that you put in your bedroom/basement.

Get PC to play any games + multi-platforms games are always better on PC.

If you want to play that exclusives, rent PS5.

>60hz and 20 ms
good enough for the console peasants

4K seems to be working fine for me

user, you can plug a console into a monitor and a PC into a TV, ya know.

I had the PS4 and am not going to be getting the ps5. 2 months ago my ps plus subscription came out and realized I been overpaying to play online. If I were to of built a PC , I would of saved a lot of money in the long run and had cheaper games. And you don't have to spend too much money. I built a 650 dollar PC and it runs the games I have (most challenging being division 2) at 30+fps 4k. Better than any console right now, and if the ps5 performs better than I can just resell it easily

Doubt it. Currently not even the $400-500 range gets you a GPU that consistently plays AAA titles at 4k60, for example my 1080 (2070/5700 xt equivalent) could just barely get 60fps on REmake 2 at 4k medium settings, and thats with a highly optimized title, so there's no possible way a console coming out in 18 months could do better than that.
