They are intended to be watched regularly over years by shots of one episode per week. With such distance between episodes most people don't get bored of it. They contain lots of useless filler (to fit the format) and many scenes that are indirect reminders (cause people forget from one week to another). Not even mentioning procedural trash thtlat are endless repeats of the same formula.
Very few shows hold under the scrutiny of straight watching it all back to back.

Perhaps but don't expect much.
Silent hills are already 'modern' games, at least 2 onwards. The few years between early re or ps1 FF and silent hills does make a lot of difference because things were moving very fast then. There is little to change to >2002 games except muh graphics and not having to mess with ini files to make the uhd readable at 4k.
