The PLD story being so weak is one of the biggest letdowns of this game. I liked the Gladiator storyline a lot so when the Stormblood questline brought back all the characters, I could at least be happy with that.

No. If you're looking for a game where all you do is raid non stop then FFXIV isn't for you. A lot of the content released during major patches are not Raids but alternate progression methods (think Legendary weapon quest lines) or minigames and story content. You aren't expected to no life the game and if you do you are going to burn out. That doesn't mean the game doesn't have content, it just doesn't have purely raid centric content.

The game can start pretty slow but it really picks up. It's very story focused so if you don't like that it might not be for you. It's in a much better state than WoW has been. Give it a try, there's a free trial up until lvl 35. Story really picks up at the end of the base game and into the first expansion.

Raids only release once every six months though, last expansion we also had two Ultimate raids which you cannot out-level or out-gear, meaning that while more useful options for gear will be available later on it'll remain somewhat relevant. They are considered the toughest encounters in the entire game too.
That's pretty much all we have going for raids though, could use more honestly, but the game is focused around story and the other side activities too.
Did they ever get into more detail about the Ishgard reconstruction. All i know is that they announced it and thats it.

Just resubbed and decided to try SAM, got Midgardsormr as a dungeon, not hard but hard enough to get the blood pumping, this is a good game lads.
SAM is holy fuck fun, love it so far but I was running out of TP in aoe fights but I think I figured my mistake, you arent supposed to do only the 3 aoe attacks, you are supposed to get one of your buffs up, use one aoe to get the aoe final move then you get the other buff up, use the correspondent aoe to get 2 stacks and so on, am I right?

When i first started playing i leveled lnc for a bit and literally fell asleep playing from a non tired state. the early game is a complete slog but i think the stick rate is the highest in any game because if you get through it you really like it.

I've gotten pulled out of AoEs a few times. But most of the time I get pulled by a passive aggressive healer into another group of enemies in the DF.
It's different in that you get a regen field and it's more like a trance and a demi bahamut put together and damage ups from the skills you get during FBT. Not really sure what else you want other than instant revive when Phoenix is summoned
It's really really easy to just do the math for aoe, multiply the damage by the number of enemies and then compare that to the lost damage from using a single target spell, offset by your buff damage
In almost every case past 3-4 enemies you are better off spamming AOE which is why dungeons are so boring

Tons of people are playing catchup actually so queues aren't too bad. Prepare to wipe though. Helped a friend do Tsukiyomi earlier and both tanks and healers were new. We wiped 3-4 times before we got it.

The music, the story, being able to play all jobs on one character. There's more but that's what's off the top of my head without needing to go into specific detail about what's good about it.
Honestly I really wanted to play 1.0 back when it was out despite the negativity surrounding it because it still looked really fun but only had a crappy laptop at the time and was no way I could play it on that, though i did hear it had some really whacky design decisions like fatigue or whatever feature that gave you less and less exp the longer you played.

Yoshida and his team are, despite sometimes making questionable design decisions, very beloved by a majority of the fanbase and overall really enthusiastic about their work, which is pretty heartwarming to watch. People actually cheering that guy's name like he's a goddamn rockstar when he comes on stage because they love him and the game he made that much.
Gatherers and crafters get a lot more love in this game than they do in many other MMOs. They have actual skills, glamours, rotations and can make you really rich if you can be bothered to put enough effort into them. In other games crafting is for glamours at best or a waste of time at worst.
You can play every single job on one character and despite some jobs being a bit weaker than others (SB WHM vs SCH/AST), you are more than capable of clearing any content with any job if you and your group are good enough and in a lot of cases your job still has some redeemable qualities in certain situations and can handle the rest just fine too. For a MMO the balance is really good, we are just spoiled by it and want it to be a bit better.
The fights are visually impressive, which is pretty normal for a Final Fantasy game but the presentation in fights like the one at the end of HW where Thordan uses Ultimate End to shatter the screen and the entire fight at the end of SB are top notch. Especially the one at the end of SB and O4S are my favorites because having a large boss hanging at the edge of the arena with crazy colours or stars in the background is the most final fantasy thing ever. Honestly, this game's big fights feel more like a FF game than FFXV ever did. Even the original summons like Ravana and Susano are cool and I'm actually hoping that one of them will eventually appear in a main-game again, simply due to how cool it'd be to have those guys as summons or bosses.
Just think about all those dumb dps and idiot tanks that will outroll you in coffers for savage content. If its a static, you're most likely getting the gear last anyway.

PLD actually ended up being one of my favorite Stormblood job questlines for this reason. I was actually annoyed that GLD questline wasn't just you going into the arena and fighting every five levels, and that questline made it up to me.

The problem with TA is that NIN will automatically be useless without it. It's the only reason NINs are actually used. Without it, no one would care at all.

The funny thing is the Meta is only really relevant for world first groups that actually need the extra 2% Damage. You could pug all of Omegascape as MCH. It's really not that hard to find groups if you just look in the PF.

Nigger, what? I play BLM, NIN, WAR, AST and BRD. There is zero overlap in how any of those classes play, they're all unique and flavorful. They're only close damage wise because the game is actually fairly well balanced and player skill is the major deciding factor in DPS as opposed to say Shadow Priests pressing one DoT and doing literally 2x an Arms Warrior's damage because the class balance is AIDS.
