It was great for fighting games and sidescrollers, it was clicky and responsive. At least the OLED Vita, IDK about Slim.

Except it was terrible for that because the directions were fucked, holding it right and nudging it slightly up or down would activate up/down even though you weren't actually pushing down and clicking the up or down. This made playing BlazBlue on the Vita a chore.

Could be, which is a shame since I liked the D-pad aside from that. Although the D-pad was really comfortable to use yet the face buttons required a lot of force to press down compared to it which made them strain my thumb and wrist when playing RPGs for long bouts. Apparently the 2000 models fixed that.

Tha's not a defective unit issue, that's just how it is by design. It's based on a pivot, not 4 separate buttons. Every dpad with a pivot exhibits this issue.

virtually any controller works with PC, but specifically, DS4Windows works with hori PS4 controllers besides the tatacon

Xbox has those as their premium controllers. I always thought they cut through the third party controller market even more than their standard controller which they market for PC.
And that an official high-end controller gives superior performance to that of standard buyers through the better kit alone.
