It's a mission based, randomly generated game with Killing Floor-like enemy waves hitting you occasionally as you explore and try to find whatever it is the mission wants you to find. It's pretty damn fun, with some nice moments of quiet and looting the planet between shitfuck storms of enemies coming for you. You also generally want balanced parties because everyone brings something that makes everyone elses lives easier.

xcom 2 with expansion pack is the best game on that list imo, played it through twice, and some more messing around with mods too, very fun game, hugely improved in gameplay and performance since the vanilla release (but you need the dlc to get the performance improvements kek) also you can totally just pirate the game since it's been cracked since forever, with all the latest patches, and mod support

I keep seeing all these negative reviews comparing the game to Dark souls, so i'd like to set this straight:

If you play this game like you would a dark souls game you would not have any fun, I know this because I spent the first 30 hours playing it like a Dark souls game and wasn't enjoying it.
In order to play this game how it is supposed to be played you need to start investing more in learning combos for your character, different techniques and items to use. Each weapon has a unique set of combos you can invest in. When you learn how to use these combos, you'll find that enemies who were infuriating to fight against being defeated much easier and the game becomes more challenging and fun over frustrating.

Summery: This game isn't Dark Souls, So stop playing it like it is Dark souls!

I found the visuals were only a problem for the first 10 minutes or so. I quickly got used to it, and actually forgot how low the resolution is until just checking a video now. It's not like Dark Souls, and that's a good thing. Every weapon has a ton of depth, with three styles and customisable moves. You can change out your parry, for example, and either cause a knockdown state, a pushback, position swap, and way more depending on your preferred playstyle. Items restock when resting (think dark souls spell charges), so you can play a full ninja shuriken/kunai playstyle if that's your thing. Three full stances per weapon, more involved stamina management with bigger rewards for system mastery, much more varied bosses, fun sidequests, tons of content with multiple difficulties, it's seriously good. Two people could use the exact same loadout and still approach the game in completely different ways. You can also hotswap between two weapons at any time so it's more like six stances at any moment.

Every sale I try to fight the urge to buy one of these. Already failed months ago with shinovi versus but I think I can keep it together this time around. I think.
