hey.....that's pretty good for kickstarter standards, good job Iga, your project didn't crash and burn, you are officially not a hack
Hey.....that's pretty good for kickstarter standards, good job Iga, your project didn't crash and burn...

he never was a hack or even close zoomer-kun
It's better than nothing.
The parts of the game that are good are the parts he would be directly responsible for, so he's definitely confirmed to not be a hack.
It was pretty obvious from TV early dev videos IGA knew what the fuck he was doing. I never doubted him.
Nice, that oughta get normies and summetfags to buy the game, we might even get a sequel
He was never a hack considering he gave out two E3 backer demos and both were good.
The game is good but kys for unironically using metacritic, fucking hate your consolewar shitposting mentality.
It's not just this game, but the side project, Curse of the Moon was positive too. That's two games in one kickstarter the went well, literally opposite Inafune. Congrats.
>It's better than nothing
unironically
>Never close
>Used crowd funding for a game that seen countless delays
my boy Iga did it, i'm proud of him, i really hope he doesn't go back to Konami tho
Was it that bad or people did it out of spite? When i see gameplay of the game it looks just like mega man but with a dash and shit graphics
>officially not a hack
Iga has been making the same exact game for 22 years
Hey how about this one, Igavanias were never fucking good
I´m happy for him, hopefully we are going to see his next project soon
shit happens
i know you people have zero understanding of the development process but come on
I hope he comes back under the condition of making a rebalanced SotN, a AoS remake, or Castlevania 1999 right away.
>"it's better than nothing" is an actual quotation from the guy who used and played with the good intentions of thousands of nostalgic retards
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he had the nerve to say that LMAO, based con man.
bloodstained is not a good looking game, but literally everything else is great: the music, level design, gameplay loop, it just feels really good, Mighty No9 however, everything went wrong, literally nothing went right, hell.that 59 score is way too good IMO
nigger faggot spic kike fucking borderlands playing faggot overwatch zoomer bitch
Yeah, I mean, I never played MN9 and I do have a lot of spite over the disgusting shit going on in the back end, but IIRC none of the footage I saw of the actual game looked poorly designed
I can't really fault the project as a whole for its goals either. Capcom has done fuck all with Mega Man ever since Inafune left. It seemed like he was the only guy that was keeping the franchise alive. I wish we could have gotten a good spiritual successor.
>DUUUUUUH LE ZOOMER
Igavanias are piss easy, are overly long, and the level design is always fucking horrendous
Happy to hear the dude's still got it.
I'd be fine if he works with Konami on the 1999 game just as a final farewell to the Castlevania series before it's officially left to rot. Either that, or whichever other story he wanted to tell other than the 1999 game, if I had to guess probably telling Quincy Morris' story? Even though it's really just a nod to the book. Iga had some interview where he admitted that he'd be happy to work with Konami on making games for 'two stories' in the CV lore that currently don't have any. He only elaborated on the 1999 game being one of them, so we can only speculate for the other.
Remaking/rebalancing games is something I've never considered, though. Would you like them to keep the sprites (assuming a remake) based look and just make it pretty, or go for the transition to models and such?
You sure have some shit taste. Post games you think are good.
People hyped these 3 projects so much, i am glad at least one of them had a happy ending, good for Iga
Castlevania 1
Castlevania 3
Rondo
>I'd be fine if he works with Konami
well considering this is their next official game:
youtube.com
i think it'd be better if he retired altogether
apparently contra corps is gonna be a free to play gatcha game what the actual fuck
Of course it turns out to be an insufferable classicvania faggot.
>being this much of a kikeshitter apologist
I want neo-Yea Forums to leave
>Calls me a zoomer
>DURR OLD CASTLEVANIA BAD I WANT 6000 USELESS ITEMS, LABYRINTHINE LEVEL DESIGN AND ENEMIES WHO DIE IN 2 HITS
>claims to be a classicvania fag
>uses enemies who die in 2 hits as a complaint
You want me to be more specific? Ok
>DURRR I WANT ENEMIES WHO DIE IN 2 HITS WHILE TAKING 30 HITS TO KILL ME
>ENEMIES WHO DIE IN 2 HITS
Nigger, both Classicvania and Igavania have enemies like that, now you both stop being faggots and start enjoying games
Show me how you snap your fingers and produce a video game in 12 months. Oh wait, we have countless examples of those. They're all garbage. Have you forgotten based Nintendo? "A delayed game is eventually good. A rushed game is bad forever"
>he thinks I'm the same person
I'm not that guy you fucking mongoloid. If anything I would have called you a faggot boomer.
>LABYRINTHINE LEVEL DESIGN
Guaranteed you got lost and absolutely ass flustered. Classicvania autists can't handle anything beyond two planes for level design, stairs, and atrocious platforming controls.
>ENEMIES WHO DIE IN 2 HITS
lmao, you're an actual tard
Most Igavanias were made in 12 months
Now he has a crown because he saved vydia
>you're an actual tard
More of a tard than people who worship "Not a Hack" Iga for making the same exact game since 1997?
But he's right fuckface. If AAA studios with millions of disposable cash and publishers get behind and get delays (Animal Crossing for Switch), then indie developers on shitstarter would suffer it even worse.
He made Curse of the Moon last year, which is supposedly the same type of game you like
>DA SAME GAEM
All classicvania are the same fucking game. Wowy I made an unbeatable "argument" too. Fucking retard. Kill yourself.
i'm still baffled, how do you fuck up this bad?
Maybe 52 is a bit low but it just isn't a good game. Not unbearably bad, but not good. I'd personally describe it as "tolerable at best".
Doesn't make Iga any less of a hack, for doing the exact same thing since SotN and then getting praised like it's the second coming.
>Let's make a non-linear, large, unbroken map to break from the Castlevani formula!
>Proceed to fall into the same exact pattern of "release same game with fresh coat of paint constantly"
Pizza explosions
Anime fan on prom night
JonTron
PR Managers being bitches
No refunds
Etc
Iga is far from the worst example of this in vidya. If this is what gets you mad, then you ought to be bitching at almost every Nintendo franchise first
>Anime fan on prom night
kek
fucking this
based
>Let's make a non-linear, large, unbroken map to break from the Castlevani formula!
Thank fuck, he made a map that takes more than 2 brain cells to navigate and your tiny brain couldn't handle it, dumb nostalgic boomer retard. Guaranteed you got lost and infuriated with pent up rage.
>>Proceed to fall into the same exact pattern of "release same game with fresh coat of paint constantly"
At least it has a new coat of paint, lmao classicvania can barely manage even that
Woah. Is this the power of Yea Forums? Very cool.
I'm surprised at how many shit Kickstarter games were made until a good one showed up. The rate is 1 good out of 20 bad
Both of you just shut the fuck up and play Order of Ecclesia.
>Bloodstained turned out good
Now if Murayama would kickstart a Spiritual successor to Suikoden
I'm confused how people are not seeing the huge amount of issues the game has or if they are simply ignoring them. Nice to get a new castlevania but it's nowhere a 9 out of 10 like most people believe.
>he's never played a contra outside of 1 and 3
To be fair, crowdfunding was his LAST option, not something he did from the get-go. He went to various publishers with the Bloodstained concept, even pitched it to god damn Compile Heart and Idea Factory.
>they are simply ignoring them
bingo
He didn't said that, that was said by Ben Judd. Inafune actually said that all of the game's short-comings fall onto him. Ben Judd has admited him he was stupid for adding that line because now everyone thinks it was Inafune.
Was it really bad, did people realize they never actually liked Banjo's gameplay or it's just because of JonTron?
Everyone knows it's buggy. But uncannily, everyone is just happy to play the game and looking at the pluses. It's just people genuinely enjoying vidya. I don't know what it is, but I guess that's Igarashi's magic. All his games are varying degrees of buggy anyhow.
Almost every game is buggy nowadays and only if they are extremely buggy I'd consider it a huge factor. This one is in between but it has some annoying bugs. But that's not what I'm talking about here, the game has so many questionable design choices. As a whole the game was enjoyable but that doesn't make for so many design issues, lackluster lore, worldbuilding, story, bland characters, unbalanced weapons and shards, weak music and sound direction department and a last third of the game that felt extremely rushed and unpolished.
Need help with onions broth. Where do I find it?
they all had a team of experienced devs that were with the series for a long time and had their production pipeline already setup
How many games have you crowdfunded?
How many of them ended up being good?
It seems like the game is selling decently too. Didn't realize so many people like Castlevania. I guess this bodes well for the quality of the next game.
Whatever happened to the spinoff show they raised money for?
Just this one. I'm happy enough with the results. I've put a lot of time into this game.
hookers and booze
Thimbleweed Park
This one
Both great. I also backed Idol Manager, which hopefully will be decent too.
>even pitched it to god damn Compile Heart and Idea Factory.
Jesus, imagine how bad that would've been.
I cant get past the blood bitch any tips?
Iga just wanted to make games that weren't pachinko or mobile so he went Kickstarter. His passion lead to a good game.
Inafune wanted to use Kickstarter for a media empire, with games seemingly just being a means to a merchandising end. His arrogance lead to a shit game.
So what went wrong with Yooka Laylee?
post yfw you fell for Bloodstained
Almost every Igavania game is the same way. This was all within the realm of expectation. And not only can we live with it, the good parts of the game were better than anything else he's done to date. And we know there's more content on the way and potential for any sequels to be even better. So I'm pretty happy with the way things turned out overall
I just wish they put more effort in some of the area aesthetics. Some look magnificent but then I enter another area and it just screams "Budget" all over.
That said, pretty satisfied with what I'm playing. Really looking forward to more.
In my opinion it doesn't surpass previous castlevanias but I hope if this gets an eventual sequel, it makes up for what went wrong in this game.
It's like Banjo except every world is stretched out 5x bigger than it should be.
Don't say "oh so like Tooie then" you cunt.
Same.
They have a nice foundation to make a sequel. Just have a better plot, nicer graphics, more interesting characters, and we're golden
That's great for anything.
>mfw remembering the Sonic Twitter shitposting about Mighty No.9
I'm interested in this game ever since the trailer where they show off the new graphics with him throwing the wine. Kino.
I can't see Konami ever bringing him back. He apparently left on good terms, but Japanese companies are fucking insane and it's likely the higher ups see Bloodstained's very existence as disrespectful or some shit.
I always thought Banjo and Mega Man kinda sucked as games and was baffled why anyone liked them beyond nostalgia. I always put games through the nephew test to see if they still hold up where I introduce my young nephew to some game and see if he likes it, I don't recall him actually playing more than 10 minutes of Mega Man 2 before dropping it, never gave him Banjo but I imagine it would be rather similar, but I did give him SotN and he was enraptured by it and I couldn't peel him off it. SotN in that way is a timeless classic that anyone can pick up and play and thoroughly enjoy today as much as we did back when it was new. Something about that core gameplay loop still calls to something deep inside. I think this just stands as a testament to how good gameplay can transcend nostalgia meanwhile franchises built only upon nostalgia and not solid gameplay flounder when remade as offbrand clones without that nostalgia factor.
This is at the core of why Yooka and MN9 failed, those scores you see are reflective of the true qualities of the forebears without the nostalgia bonus. It's hard to be objective and make a solid estimation on something you grew up playing which is why it's always best to take a step back and reevaluate things without your personal biases. If the developers had stopped to consider that maybe these game's weren't selling and no one wanted to take the risk to give them money wasn't merely an injustice but actually a reflection upon these series themselves we wouldn't have wasted however much money went into those two.
MN9 redeemed itself with Burst.
That's just Gunvolt, it's good in-spite of MN9's presence.
Sotn was made to be easy and accessible so anyone could play it. Mega Man is more difficult than what most kids are willing to put up with now. That doesn't mean Mega Man sucks as a series.
>my own personal tastes and the anecdotal evidence of my kid nephew's taste are more indicative of the objective value of these gameplay styles than the millions of dollars poured into the spiritual successors of beloved long running franchises
>Those scores are 100% reflective of the games themselves and have nothing to do with how poorly these projects treated their backers
This is one of the dumbest things I've read in a long time
>he literally bases his opinions on older games off of his retarded zoomer nephew
Fucking hell you're autistic.
You both could stand to take a step back and reevaluate your lives as objectively as possible.
Your brain is fucked if you need to use a child family member to judge the quality of a game.
Igarashi was never a hack.
Yooka Laylee was great though. Granted I played it after the giant patch so I never experienced launch state, which seems to be what mod people had issues with. The levels were too big but the game was great and exactly what I wanted. I liked it more than Hat in Time and really want a sequel but they just made some shit sequel side scroller so lmfao
The game is so fun and just FEELS good to play.
I fucking love it. Curse of the Moon was also a nice bonus.
The Impossible Lair's just an asset flip, they still plan on doing a proper Yooka Laylee 2.
Accessibility is huge, there is a reason shit like Dwarf Fortress and EVE never takes off the way other more accessible games do. A well handled learning curve is essential for sustained playability, I'd rank it as perhaps the second most important factor in any game just behind the novelty of the core gameplay itself. If you can nail both a game that's fun to play and easy to start playing that's when you know you have a winner that will endure.
You honestly can't judge the timeless quality yourself with any degree of objectivity. You're too biased as is anyone else who played them young and feels even a modicum of nostalgia for them. So you, your friends, anyone see online, they're all worthless. You need that outside view to make sure you're not letting your own biases taint the results. You need an untainted third party. That's where the young nephew is ideal. Especially if they haven't played many old games before and it's all entirely new to them.
>The gun has a cooldown
What were they thinking?
My nephew loves old school mega man. Holy shit super based way of analyzing stuff, you were right all along! Clearly my nephew BTFO your retard nephew. Pretty objective stuff. Guess that's that
Cool story bro, although I'm not really into writing fantasy stories myself. I try to keep thing grounded in reality.
Could be a 92 if the animation and effects were better. How could they fuck that up? it's one of the first things you do when making a game.
air dash 2 win lol
the gameplay sucks shit, doesn't matter how good the graphics could have been, it would still be a bad game
the writing is also atrocious
and the voice acting
fuck, nothing about this game is good
>your nephew story is fantasy bro haha no child could possible like mega man xD
>my nephew, who's real btw, on the other hand really gives unbiased insight into the 3rd party objective outlook into these old games if I do say so myself haha
Neck yourself unironically.
Its very obvious IGA isn't a hack but the team that worked on the game clearly is.
There's nothing in this game that really justifies being in development for 70 years. The people working on this were underqualified and had to be given an insane amount of wiggle-room before they got it right.
Whatever you have to tell yourself bro, I mean instead of fabricating this alternate reality to save a little face wouldn't it just be easier to accept you're biased and out of touch?
now post hollow knight's metascore
>Whatever you have to tell yourself bro
It must be really hard for you to think other people have nephews, huh? Cope harder. Enjoy the bonus (You).
>Do the NIGHTMARE cheat and start on hard for my first playthrough
>have to craft every single thing, max out my potion and mana whatever potions storage
>have to watch my step around big fuckers
>even fucking bats hurt me
>step on solid ground, it crumbles
>step next to a framed picture, it attacks me
>meet a fellow demon hunter, he kills me
The only thing that makes me go on is the EEEEEE UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH enemy and his demon destroyer shard.
Game is good but I wish it had more songs.
Now for a Curse of Darkness type of game.
Why wouldn't you just, you know, play the game and trust your own opinion instead?
Are you seeking validation on your tastes in vidya from your naive nephew?
Good, but not quite enough.
SOTN is not as good as bloodstained.
>shit sequel side scroller
I'm honestly more hyped for that than I ever was for the original Yooka. Shit looks like the Retro DKCs.
Yooka-Laylee was boring because the levels were too bloated, collectables were 9 trillion light years apart, graphics looked very flat, and it just felt tedious getting around. Banjo shots on it because it's fun moving around in that game, since the levels were designed to always have something for you to do nearby, instead of the aimless wandering in Yooka.
Here's some advice, if you see a kickstarter for a "spiritual successor" to a beloved dead series, look at what they have planned, if they just plan on making a game, back it if you're interested, if they plan on making a brand, like planning so far ahead with shit like trading cards and cartoons, avoid it like the fucking plague
