What is the best crafting, building, and surviving game out there?
What is the best crafting, building, and surviving game out there?
There is none
Either NEO Scavenger or UnRealWorld.
Minecraft
i wanna say The Forest, because it has an impeccably unique atmosphere, and it has an END
Rust
Rust is a multiplayer griefing simulator, not a survival one.
Honestly, 7 days to die is shaping up to be one of the best zombie games ever. I mean, the bar is low, but it's something.
Rimworld.
The Long Dark if you subtract building.
As a very early backer i can tell you the devs arent focused in the slightest and have genuinely made the game worse.
Another story of early access potential being wasted
Oh also
Kenshi.
How so? I've been playing for 4 and a half years and the progress has been constant, if a bit slow. But, hell, for an Early Access game, it's practically a miracle.
Making an update twice a year is not "constant"
Cataclysm dark days ahead by a mile
You got everything from making mad max death cars to vitamin levels you have to maintain by eating varied food
Pretty close to real life-ish simulator of end of the world
Not frequent, no, but consistent.
That mixed recent reviews though.
Can you tell me what they've changed to get you and others so pissed off?

not him, but they locked a bunch of perks behind levels, so even though lets say, you want to focus on being a mechanic to build cars, and getting to level 10(max) INT costs a lot of skill points already, you won't be actually able to craft, until you reach player level 80 or something.
So you basically can't just rush to any one techtree, and you HAVE TO play general rounded out characters.
As far as i remember, they were getting rid of this in the next patch?
Either way, the game is amazing, people get too attached to their characters though, and like to spend 100k hours mining dirt and REEE at any changes.
>6 years after conception
>still alpha
They've dicked performance over and over again focusing on zombie visuals and animations for some fucking reason. They've decided to constantly half-ass a bunch of new things instead of bringing anything up to a good level. We really needed new vehicles when the base vehicle functionality barely works.
Combat is still total ass.
They decided to artificially extend the lifespan of your playthrough by making it more grindy rather than adding more to do.
I guess to a new player it seems really fun but it's just really frustrating to see how half-assed the game is when it could have been great.
100% agreed user, been playing since alpha 4? Before they changed the suicide teleporting. Any torrents for an older patch?
No Man's Sky but good(and ugly).
For zombies its Project Zomboid.
Everything else, Rimworld and Long Dark are my favorites.
Long Dark gets the struggle for gear just right, its hard to collect but not impossible, and its comfy as fuck as well. Campaign is bad though so avoid that, just do the standalone version.
