I downloaded this off roms mania, it came in a .exe file that downloaded the rom. I downloaded megaman and some other games and they turned out fine and worked normally but this mario one is the only one thats all fucked

Here's a tip: on that site you provided, there's an arrow next to More Options. Click that and select the 217.1 KB file, there's your ROM, No .exe bullshit. Never run an .exe from these sites.

To all the morons responding, these rom sites use an executable that either advertises to you the entire time the actual file is downloading or tries to fool you into installing "sponsored" software in the process. You can literally just click some shit like "slow download" or "direct download" and bypass the .exe installer.
