Honestly, that's kind of the big question with all the Playstation remakes. Crash, Spyro. even Ratchet and Clank was a financial success, despite everything they changed. Hard not to wonder if any of the studios involved are planning on taking another step forward with any of it.

I can't be assed to find a source but I remember Insomniac straight up confirming that Ratchet and Clank isn't dead. I just hope whatever they do next isn't following that reboot. It wasn't terrible but it could have been better for sure.

I played the main three on the vita about a year before the remake came out. I would say that out of all the 3D PS1 games, they have aged the best due to their art style and tight, simple gameplay.

I'd go as far to say that reignited loses a little something in the transition, and gems can be harder to spot in some of the more complex environments. The new coat of polish can look absolutely gorgeous sometimes though and it's funny to see how the team have interpreted certain locations/characters.

Is the gameplay good?
I bought the Crash trilogy and the graphics are great but the gameplay is unbelievably awful, it's not even similar to the original games

Biggest complaint is how unfinished 3 was, the release date plus the immaculate state 1 is in compared to 3 in relation to color and 3d assets is crazy, and the most telling part is the delays and the fact 2 & 3 arent even on disc, this shit was no where near done on the original release, and what exists now is all that was one during the delay

I've seen people on here talk about the possibilities of what a new Crash game could offer but what about Spyro? What kind of tweaks would you like to see for the Spyro formula? For me, I'd like the elemental breaths brought back but they can have varying effects depending on how and what they are used on. For example, flaming a fire enemy only makes it stronger and more deadly whereas freezing it would make it weaker. They can also be upgraded in a way that resembles less like the Legends series but more like the SpongeBob Squarepants Movie game. Maybe we can get a game that centers on different types of dragons like Chinese ones who could work as allies or villains just to add to the lore.

Yeah the different breaths was a good idea, it's just that Dragonfly absolutely botched the basic game/level design and was riddled with bugs.

It makes you wonder if these series could have thrived had they continued to be made with reasonable quality without being whored out every year. Everyone just assumed that the platformer was a dying genre.

No and no. The remakes have some problems like the camera being too close or hover working strangely in 2/3

It has soul, so what. Spyro was, gameplay-wise was a lackluster, fetchy, collectathon with unnecessarily sharp saturation. Clunky controls and a drunkenly wandering camera cement a bronze medal on it in the golden age of 3D platforming. So what if the remake alleviates these issues? The voice acting was part of the charm. With no option for original sound, that's a sleep. All year every year.

I feel like it has the best level design. Spyro's charging feels better, it's faster and it has a sort of wild momentum to it, almost like 4 wheel steering or something. You get to play around with the supercharge in some levels, whereas in the sequels you only ever do it in an enclosed circuit.

Yeah it’s a good remake, but man these games don’t hold up well as an adult at all. I remember loving them as a kid but they’re obviously not designed to be enjoyed by anyone any older. I just finished Spyro 1 remastered the other day and it really felt like a game designed for toddlers. I might give 2 and 3 a try later but I really don’t have much will to do so after playing 1.

Insanely easy, with very little actual gameplay besides running around collecting gems. Collecting the dragons is annoying because you need to sit through their dialogue in which they normally just tell you something obvious like “you can kill enemies by charging”. There are only two different ways of killing enemies - charge armoured ones and flame non armoured ones. You basically just run around these small empty levels collecting gems and attacking the ultra basic enemies. Boss battles are not very good and you can easily beat them all on your first attempt. I finished the game with 120% completion after only 6 or 7 hours of playtime.

The only thing that’s really any good about it as an adult is the atmosphere and the nostalgia. Gameplay and story are way too basic for an adult to really get much out of and the attempts at humour all fall pretty flat.

at least the fat fags acknowledge that it's horrendous in real life and they just like it aesthetically

No, I wouldn't, because I don't think I would be fond of being in relationship with a obese fat unhealthy man, whose its body capacity is absolutely not able to contain and store the immense amount of fat cells, thus resulting in a VERY high deviation form of the normal human shape we all are used and comfortable. Once obese you are, I believe there's no way to look good in public, there can be further encouragement in eating more and staying much more sedentary than the normal, you may suffer loss of simple abilities such as running, and the list goes on.

Although, chubby people, theses with a rotund, thick and soft belly, such as bears, are a totally different case in the other hand, as theses have a great capacity to hold fat cells, and look great in general. Theses are the kind of men that not only I love, but that I would also would like to date them. That is, if they look good, and present some muscle so to mixture well with fatness and create whole new unique attractive kind of body-type (muscleguts, for example), of course.
