I cheesed a no damage multiplier with Faust instead of actually being good at the game. Highest I could get without the no damage multiplier was 5500. Dante is hard.

I enjoyed him alot, even on DMD. Dante and Nero's movesets are largely tailored around smaller group encounters so it was nice to play with someone who's moveset is designed around large groups of enemies. Once you learn which attacks synergize with each other and which attacks chain into charge attacks he can be alot of fun.

It also helps to be right in the middle of everything. He has way more than enough I-frame moves to be able to.

Nah they don't need to keep it 20 missions DMC1 and 2 weren't restricted by that number, and they can have Vergil as the starting character with 10 missions, and than you can unlock Dante with 10 mission, and lastly unlock the "V" character with the 3 missions

I like V and mostly enjoyed playing as him, but he's clearly the least polished of the three. Dante and Nero obviously benefited from using DMC4 as a base.

Some issues:
>mediocre single-target damage, which becomes extremely apparent on DMD
>cane is underutilized, can only buy a single cane move from the shop
>don't have full control over Shadow's position, which can get aggravating (especially when he warps away in the middle of a combo)
>Nightmare is too mindless
>can't maintain charge moves between dodges (even though Nero and Dante can)
>can't chain aerial warp executions
>jump cancelling is much less useful than with Dante/Nero, given that Shadow obviously can't do it
>character is too streamlined overall

That's the fault of the writers. 4 wrote the series into a corner it's never coming out of. Also it's not like any character that isn't named Nero or Vergil gets ANY semblance of character development.

There is a reason for this that is 100% explicable.
It's entirely because V himself is out of range of the enemy. Shadow might be disconnected, but he is still the "melee weapon" and as such only has a certain range that he's effective in. If V is too far away from the enemy, Shadow will teleport back to him. If you're in range, Shadow will only teleport or walk towards the targeted enemy if you stop attacking for a single second.

The obfuscation of this "range" is why so many people feel like Shadow's position is just uncontrollable when it's really not at all.

Griffon also has this range stuff but it only really affects Round Robin as ya know, he's a gun.

By the by, putting Griffon and Shadow into DT increases their range exponentially.
