Is this a perfect Monster Hunter game? From Steam forums: >Outside of a few times where you have to track an enemy during the story, enemies are always at the same place every time you come back after unlocking them via the story progression and all of the bosses and mini-bosses have a "ring" in which you are going to fight them (when not during the story you can go to the edge of the ring to escape the encounter). >Outside of the heavier weapons, the pace of the combat tends to be a lot closer to what you could expect from a spectacle fighter or action RPG. These are literally the two things that I didn't like about MHW.
Toukiden 2 is on sale right now, what do you think about it Yea Forums? I'm going to pirate it first to try it out, but while it's downloading I want to know what you think.
Yeah for half off it's worth it. Just look at some youtube gameplay it will be obvious whether you will enjoy it or not.

>There are no consumables but magic powers with limited uses, but maybe more importantly there isn't anything about weapon durability in this game. This sounds too good to be true. thanks user! I'm going to try it out

I enjoyed it, but I’m not an MH “purist” that hates every other hunting game that isn’t MH. The pace of combat is a step above MH but not quite as fast as say God Eater, so if you didn’t like the slowness of MH you’ll probably like this. It does admittedly feel a little clunky at times until you get the hang of certain weapons. Combat is a lot flashier too and you have big “super moves” that involve a mini cinematic which can instantly destroy a monsters limb.
The main gimmick of the series is breaking parts off of monsters and purifying them. Once monsters lose certain parts they lose access to some moves it might change their move set completely. For example, for one monster if you rip off it’s legs it will flip onto its arms and get much more aggressive. Conversely if you rip off all a monsters limbs they can just be a torso flopping on the floor. Bullying monsters is really satisfying this way.
2 introduced a demon arm you can use to grapple around, restrain monsters, or knock them over, adding a bit more depth to combat. Overall it does still feel easier than MH thanks to the mobility and movesets of weapons. The AI companions are godlike and make anything easy. Overall I’d recommend it if you can get it for cheap.

I really like how it sounds. If I don't get my friend to buy this, will I still have fun playing it solo?
Easton Wright
Forgot to mention that the story and characters are actually really enjoyable too. Not award winning by any means, but the NPCs all get their own arcs in the story and have really fun personalities that make taking them along interesting. There’s several surprisingly touching moments as well.

It's a fine action game I guess, but nothing exceptional. The open world is also pure garbage.
Kayden Ross
Can I play the campaign with a friend? >The open world is also pure garbage. Why?
William Ross
I played it almost exclusively solo and still got a lot of enjoyment after it. Again though the NPC companions are godlike and make things much easier, so if you want a challenge you should play without them.
Jordan Russell
got it, thanks again
Carson Hill
>Why? Because it's dead and empty, due mostly to plot reasons of course, but it's a big open world with nothing in it outside of a few scripted fights and boring MMO tier sidequests.
Gavin Parker
Should I get it bros Is it fun to play with friends?
Jeremiah Nguyen
Story was pretty alright by KT standards but the gameplay is a bit too simple by monster hunter clone standards. Every weapon approaches the fights basically the same way due to things like destroyer and demon burial being universal.
Ian Robinson
user, read the thread, there aren't many replies at all
Ethan Gutierrez
everything is fun with friends unless you're a passive aggressive fuckup
Owen Martinez
none of them have what i'm asking about
Kayden Rivera
not really, for example MHW was a pain in the ass to play with friends on launch because of the shitty servers and general clunkyness of trying to play with them and made the experience worse
Evan Long
apparently you cannot coop in the campaign, mp and sp are two separate mods.
Jace Rivera
thanks
Luis Watson
I'm sorry you can't enjoy your friends' company without the game.
William Garcia
how long is the campaign though?
Jeremiah Wilson
uh what? where did that come from buddy?
William Reed
i miss my friends ;-;
Kevin Jenkins
get therapy kid
John Peterson
20-25ish hours maybe if you don’t dick around? Been awhile since I played.
Julian Adams
wow, that's actually a lot, I thought the story mode was more of a tutorial for the mp grind mode.
Blake Turner
I prefer Toukiden 1 more desu

>Dynasty Warriors: Monster Hunter Edition I was honestly extremely disappointed. I even pre-ordered it.
