I don't wanna do a mass reply, but don't listen to the user itt saying 2's gameplay is unsalvageable. I actually liked it quite a bit for the majority of the game before realizing that the best tactic for every boss is the same. Even then, I preferred it over 1's battles where you watch the same attack animations over and over again. Also the presence of music during gameplay made it a lot more enjoyable imo. Characters are ugly in 2, but they were also butt ugly in 1 and I think some are honestly improvements (MOMO).
I actually liked 1 for all the world building in the database, and it had some neatly directed cutscenes, but it isn't until 3 where the series really found its identity. The characters aren't ugly as sin, the battle system effectively plays it safe, and the music is killer.
Too bad at that point the damage was done to the series and it already had gotten the axe from Namco.

Yeah the cutscene music in XS1 is good but outside of that you have what would be decent battle music if it wasn't the only fucking one in the game and a couple of throwaway situational area themes that are repeated.
I bought and played the trilogy for the first time this year myself and can't believe I've never seen anyone mention it, it was a huge flaw in my opinion.
2 has area music but the gameplay music and event music are actually by two different composers which is somewhat odd. I still enjoyed the gameplay music, but at times it almost seemed a little too upbeat or energetic for the series.
3 has the entire soundtrack by the girl who composed the event music in 2 and its fantastic.

Xenosaga 1 was Mitsuda, and really, I still think he's kinda overrated. But he definitely knows how to handle a cinematic experience, his cutscenes musics in XS1 are good. Xenosaga II was handled by that hack hosoe, but fortunaltely, they got Kajiura on board for the cutscenes music, whic is absolutely fantastic. Also keep in mind Hosoe's gameplay music was so shit, they did remove some of his tracks to replace them by kajiura's music, even though she only did the cutscenes tracks. For Xenosaga III, it's 100% Kajiura, and it's one of the best jrpg soundtracks ever, up to the Xenoblade standards.

Mitsuda deserves all his praise for Chrono Trigger and moreso Chrono Cross. Easily two of the best vidya soundtracks of all time.
Xenogears has some great pieces but I do think its a little overrated because its too short for the length of the game and even with those few tracks some just aren't that good. Chrono Cross utterly blew it out of the water just 2 years later. Mitsuda can still do some nice vocal credit themes though.
Hosoe is bretty good. 999 has a god tier soundtrack that contributes greatly to the atmosphere, and XS2's gameplay soundtrack was at worst decent.

The only members of Torna I'd call terrible would be Patroka and maybe Mikhail (he was awful in some scenes but fine in others), and considering how much better they sounded in NG+ I'd chalk that up more to the direction than the VAs themselves. Pyra has a ton of good doujins, and at least this one shouldn't be too difficult to find on sadpanda.

You get the same subs for both languages.
It's a choice between a dub that some people find charming but has terribly inconsistent quality and some incredibly low lows, and a sub that's quality all around but leaves some things (battle dialogue) unsubbed and uses dubtitles (meaning some character names won't match up and shit).
You're not locked in to a single choice and can change the voice language whenever you like, so if you're having a tough time choosing I'd just wing it until you figure out what you want to use more.
Also Nia's English voice is ludicrously overrated. I like it, but it's not the masterwork some people are claiming it is. Bad direction plagues the entire dub, and Nia is affected by it just like all the other characters.

There are a lot of little differences in dialogue aside from the names, yes.
Most of it isn't TOO egregious, IMO, but even if you have a basic understanding of Japanese from watching anime or something you'll probably be bothered by it.

Considering how it went, it actually has a decent enough resolution. Don't get me wrong, and without spoiling you, some things are left open. But it truly ended a big arc, and as such, felt satisfying enough.

You should do as many sidequests as you encounter them as you can or you'll end up outleveling them. But you're never locked out of any at any point.

If you're starting the game whatever rare blades you can get will work fine, just try to keep healers on Nia and that should do it, it doesn't matter what "tier" they are because those tiers are for post game stuff with everything maxed out and used very specific strategies that may not apply to regular gameplay.

The game makes it seem like she and Malos clashed multiple times throughout the war and that civilian casualties were something she had to painfully accept. The DLC isn't quite at that scope.

The only one I remember being particularly bad was the infamous bedroom scene, but otherwise nothing jumps out at me as too much. And considering all of the characters are at least fairly stereotypical, especially Rex and Pyra, I can excuse that.
