Kinda reminds me a bit of mtg, really. You have a big pool of spells, maybe dip as deep as you like into another prof, and come up with either something nearly gamebreaking or some janky shit.
Theorycrafting and playtesting just isn't the same in any other games.

There is an easy way where you just rename some files, gameux.dll and I think one other, google is your friend

it was a pve build, duh
the point of it was to go and hit very fast, + scythe meaning hitting 3 mobs at the same time, + the first two skills that were instant, so you go auto attack and then both of them for a 3 hit strike in less than a second, + that whirlwind PVE one that kept being up since scythe means hitting three mobs means infinite adrenaline, + the save yourself shout for my heroes and meaning they only really have to focus on healing me, which they needed since primal rage

I bought and downloaded this to see why everyone always praises it and holy fuck I don't know what is wrong with the people that play it. This is probably the most boring fucking "MMO" I've ever played. Everything can be done singleplayer outside of PVP and the combat is clunky and boring almost like RuneScape point and click. It's seriously no wonder I had never fucking heard of it before Guild Wars 2, all the other MMOs on the market shit all over it easily in everything except the story and setting.

Having played GW1, Runescape, and WoW all during their respectful golden ages I would say GW1's competitive advantage vesus other games was its PvP content. PvE end game and lore content was not even close to WoW's. No one beats Runescape's Questing/Comfy atmosphere. That being said guild wars did have good PvE content, questing, and atmosphere.

Where guild wars shined was its PvP. The endless amount of creativity and fun you could have PvPing was unbeatable. Runescape's PvP content was lack luster because the combat is lack luster compared to other games. WoW's PvP content was often insanely unbalanced and was never designed to be take seriously.

A lot of people felt the game got ruined once meta became a thing, but I still think it was better than any other MMO PvP I played. It was simple, creative, yet challenging.

Does that build out DPS daggerspam warrior? Even moreso with OoP on your MoX, I imagine daggers would be much better since they hit so much faster. Although, I suppose if you enjoy scythe more then it's not a big deal. The shitty part about any game being so old is that it all gets figured out. Also I don't see how you can play warrior without asuran scan. There's too damn much melee hate in GW.

DESU, heroes were not really a positive thing IMO. I did Prophecies and Factions with randoms and while it was frustrating at times, 6/8 lf monks will live with me forever as a cherished memory. Once I got to Nightfall, me and a friend pretty much just duo'd everything and a lot less people bothered to look for groups.

Ultimately, without heroes the servers would have been turned off long ago, they have extended the life of the game as a single player experience, but when they were introduced they were damaging to the social aspect of the game.

daggers would out dps on single targets, but daggers don't hit three targets at the same time

though that hero composition might not be the right one, I can't really remember what party I was rocking, especially since my ritualist and ogden both have that smithing favor thing to cast on me (so I guess I picked one or the other) and my necro doesn't even reach 500 health, so maybe I was just fucking around with her too

well I was a degenerate back then already, and I couldn't speak english and I played mostly during the night, meaning I couldn't find people and all my friends were asleep when I played, so heroes were a godsend

there are many cases where heroes simply fix a lot of issues, you noted the lf monk, but how many times did your party end up dissolving because some guy needed to go eat or went to sleep and shit and you had to cancel it all?
heroes fixed all those issues

and I didn't mind playing solo PVE since I was mostly a pvp player anyways, I already had my fill of player interactions over there and that way I could simply enjoy the story all on my own at my own pace

Factions is the fastest, Prophecies is REALLY FUCKING SLOW, and Nightfall is right in the middle

daggers are good for single target, but the absolute god for melee is Whirlwind Attack+Hundred Blades

I'm this fag and yep I barely got into post-Searing and haven't touched it since. Prophecies, especially early on, has SO MUCH running around, and a degree of back-and-forth.

and since you are already at it you may as well grind the survivor real quick

splinter weapon + death blossom + ww attack is super good aoe damage itself considering just how fast you can pump out death blossoms and whirlwinds, and daggerspam has far, far higher single target. if you're in an organized group with somebody to ball up 10+ mobs then of course hundred blades build will outshine everything else, but for general clear I think daggerspam is unbeaten

basing your build around enchantments is a bad idea IMO
most high end PVE zones are filled with mesmers, necros and assassins that will rip those straight off your ass and more often than not kill you with them

Spent weeks grinding the mats for it and a ridiculous amount of gold for the White Dye. But back then it was absolutely worth it.

I found I preferred the Elite Kurzick of all the Assassin armors available. It had a far more reasonable amount of ridiculous spikes everywhere I found compared to everything else.

I never got into PvP seriously in GW1 but I remember AB, it was like the playground people ran memeshit in and trolled chat. I think at some point they were trying to rework underused skills, and it led to some hilarious builds like an Elementalist running around with a bow capable of permanently stunlocking someone.

Close enough. $40 isn't bad.

I came up with a dumb build to actually make Decapitate usable. The basic premise was to go W/Me with Ether Signet and dual stances of Mantra of Inscriptions and enraging charge.

You started off with EC, did your usual adrenaline axe combo, hit MoI before the decapitate, then ether sig right after. Then Repeat the process. Monks in AB never saw it coming.

Then Me/E Signet Mesmers abused the fuck out of fast casting and got MoI nerfed into the ground.

If you've never played it before, its worth it. There is a lot of PvE content that you can solo on your own, its a single player RPG in itself assuming you get heroes.
