This game is gonna be a blunder, isn't it?
Baldur's Gate III
Here's a comprehensive list of facts you cannot dispute
-Larian can't write worth a shit
-Larian's humor is complete garbage and unfunny "lol so randumb" bullshit
-Larian is an SJW company like the average western company. They promote faggotry of all types, down to the romance choices and the sexualization of the characters of note you can't romance. Note that I'm not saying this is a bad thing, I'm merely stating it's a fact that some people like to conveniently forget.
-Full voice acting is a waste of budget
-The voiced narrator is cringe
-The *do action* shit is cringe and I'm gonna laugh my ass off if they're retarded enough to put that garbage in Baldur's Gate 3
-Larian fans have no reason whatsoever to feel happy for the fact that Larian is making Baldur's Gate 3. They spent all of their time building their own setting with its own lore and universe, and the second they got the chance to go get some higher name notoriety for more Jew bucks, they took it. The average Baldur's Gate boomer grognard is gonna hate this shit due to lack of RTwP, a shittier D&D system, not a true sequel to the previous two games, and many other reasons. Meanwhile, the more entrenched Larian fans are staring at their masters working on the shackles of someone else's license, just like how Obsidian had to do back in the day ("No, no, no, you can't have an ending where you kill this character, that wouldn't fit with our tabletop books"). Larian has been cucked into wasting their development resources for someone else's property and they gladly do this just so they can get more shekels, whereas Obsidian ran away from that shit because it took away their creative liberty
-Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 were great, if flawed, games and much better than any recent Larianigger shit
-Tyranny was still garbage, though
Thank you for reading.

On Yea Forums it will.
In reality though? It will likely be on par with DivinityOS2. How much you liked or hated that game is up to you
Even if it isn't you're gonna pretend that it was and make all threads about it annoying to be in, being the cocksucking moron that you are.
based and redpilled
Shit post but
>Larian has been cucked into wasting their development resources for someone else's property and they gladly do this just so they can get more shekels
True
At least we're getting Fallen Heroes as well
>literally that cthullu meme on Yea Forums
Yeah, looks like shit.
Larianiggers coping already
(you)
It is going to game of the year all years.
@467840889
No more (you)s 4 u.
Stopped at the >muh SJW
Have sex.
There's nothing wrong with being SJW. Larian is SJW just like every other RPG developer worth a shit in this day and age.
mite b cool
More like Baldur's Gay am I right?
It's okay when Larian does it
Just hope we get some interesting romance options
I will accept nothing but a kobold, a gelatinous cube, and an elder brain for romance options.
Kill self
We're still about 10 years off from that level of degeneracy getting normalized in media
As long as it will be turn based I'll at least bother with it.
Illithid genocide best day of my life
I want a halfling waifu that I can turn into a mindflayer!
Larian are alright at writing, it's the pacing of their games that is an issue. They make good games, even moreso if what you're looking for is an engaging multiplayer roleplaying game. You don't have to shit on Obsidian or the old Baldur's Gate games to like Larian, why are people like you only thinking that you need to choose a single thing to like.
>NPC picture and bulletpoints about SJW
Your thoughts aren't your own. Fucking sort yourself out.
>-Larian can't write worth a shit
Pretty sure this is subjective chief.
Why would a company use the name of an old series that has already wrapped up 2 decades ago?
The city isn't that interesting and there are more interesting places in the setting. The reason is obviously to cash in on nostalgia and fake nostalgia for people with no self control nor ability for critical thinking.
They've already had the D&D designers compromise the original design and setting lore for them so that they can make it more exciting. So get ready for a hype bonanza that has no substance.
>As long as it will be turn based I'll at least bother with it.
You have got to be shitting me.
i want to romance a illithid so i can flay that pussy
>Unironically liking RTwP
>Implying BG ever had good gameplay
Sometimes, people can appreciate a proper game and not a shallow autobattle simulator with pause every once in a while to refresh your buffs and redirect your few useful wizard's AoEs.
I agree with most of what you wrote but you only need to state this:
>Larian humor
God I HATE modern humor in games.
How good are sorcerers compared to any other magic class?
This is the kind of shit that disgusts me. Why the fuck would you be happy about a third Baldur's Gate if you didn't enjoy the first two? DISGUSTING!
Dilate.
The particulars depend on the edition, but generally speaking, they're Wizards with less spells but the ability of trading in some spells for others when they level up, which makes them more friendly for beginners as you can correct previous mistakes to a certain extent, whereas wizards don't have that luxury.
Sorcerers also don't have to prepare their known spells like Wizards do.
In 5e they also have racial heritages for additional bonuses iirc, which Wizards lack.
>Why the fuck would you be happy about a third Baldur's Gate if you didn't enjoy the first two?
Because I would end up liking it?
I always forget that in this place you cannot enjoy videogames.
If I have to be completely honest too, I would have much preferred another Dark Alliance game instead of a new mainline, but hey, I get to genocide Illithid scum so I'll take it.

>larian is guilty of a number of crimes
>-Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 were great
GTFO bacl to Ywr Glwnfwth before the Pwfwi wind's up Josh, or you might catch a bad case of writer's block and come up with a totally unimaginative universe with names nobody can recall 10 mins after playing, sharkmen instead of orcs, wizards that are called 'ciphers' and a ruleset that doesn't even reward killing mobs. Oh, wait...
Obsidian sold out in the end though. Larian gets the ultimate win by still being independent and making good money on their own.
>Why would a company use the name of an old series that has already wrapped up 2 decades ago?
Because those are the best RPG games ever made, period, you dumbbell, the Half-life 1 and 2 of RPGs. Fuck these contrarians, and also all you slanteyes who like turn-based slogs.
The other user is trying to say that you have no sensible reason to like it or get hype for it. Not that you can't like video games. The point of the sequel is that it's supposed to be a continuation of a series. On the premise that this is actually supposed to be Baldur's Gate III then user is right, your hype for it is misplaced and stupid. On the premise that this is just Larian/Divinity Gate III then you're right, there are perfectly valid reasons to look forward to this game and screw the official name that tries to tie it to an old series.
>Obsidian belongs to someone else
>But Larian are the ones doing the adaptations of licenses for other people
What a timeline
No they're not, you must be really young to think that. They pick the name because of people like you with extreme fake nostalgia.
Hire me, Larian. I got the perfect tagline.
>Baldur's Gate III, for those that didn't like the first two
It should be Beamdog to be accurate. They have some of the original devs, those that didn't quit game design and get jobs in finances. But you know how what everyone thinks of Beamdog so it doesn't matter who makes it now. Rockstar could have announced they're making BGIII and people would love it.
>when you jokingly tell your co op friend to pick the gay option and the madman actually does it
I figured it'd be fade to black but no, it went on and on. Holy fuck was it bad bros, if anyone ever says Larian has a good writing team I will bust a gut laughing.
Beamdog didn't do even one single little thing right with their EE. Every single addition only serves to ruin the game. What they did is literal vandalism.
And to be fair they vandalized their own work. Beamdog only works on games that they themselves actually worked on, with the exception of IWD and PS:T which used the engine they made. Much of the infinity engine code was rewritten by the people that originally wrote it.
The way people talk about it is as if a company name represents the developers not the developers make the company. Old Bioware is gone and what remains of them founded Beamdog.
>gay option
but sebille is a girl
But I'm not hype, I literally said that IF and only IF it will have turn based gameplay I'll bother with it.
>The point of the sequel is that it's supposed to be a continuation of a series
This is a game set 100 years after the second game, it's a "sequel" in the sense that the core element of the city being an important place will be there and that's it.
Did anyone bitch about the Dark Alliance games being diablo clones?
No they didn't, only bitter RTwP faggots can't get over the fact that there is a remote possibility of the game being turn based and have to throw even more fits for anyone that likes that.
But the city wasn't important in BGII what are you smoking?
>having more romance options is bad
Holy mother of cringe, Batman!
>They spent all of their time building their own setting with its own lore and universe, and the second they got the chance to go get some higher name notoriety for more Jew bucks, they took it.
Larian has no setting except 'cartoonish open spaces with lots of room for arcadey yet turn-based combat'. The BG meets Diablo setting of Divine Divinity was charming yet exactly the same as that in Sacred 1 except that Larian is actually good at encounter design and there were always memorable interactions with NPCs to be had (which they also ripped off from BG 1).
>lack of RTwP
has not yet been confirmed, tho with so many people fallen prey to weeb games and voicing their opinion online nowadys, this may become a chilling reality
>a shittier D&D system
yeah, well, 2nd edition's never coming back anyway
>not a true sequel to the previous two games
great, cause the main quest was the worst part of those games. What was good were the sidequests and random encounters and exploration (all of which Larian can do as well as early Bioware)
this guy might be onto something with that last part
>a tower in the city you say
5e isn't made for video games, it's barely enjoyable for table top. It's good for improv and DM fiat, which you can't code in an engine. There are literally people that give advise to play 5e and say they're never read any of the rules. Expect it to either be a terrible gameplay experience or for Larian to make up their own game mechanics.
>except that Larian is actually good at encounter design
>sorcerors can trade spells
And wizards can get all the spells just from copying scrolls
Imo the main advantage of sorcerors is that they can do metamagic on the go. A wizard has to prepare spells in advance, which is fine, but also prepare their metamagics, which is much more situational.
Swen has already said that they won't be sticking to TT rules
It's Red Prince and Beast.
Unironically Larian made a mistake trying to cash grab on BGIII.
They should have made an NWN3 instead, they were already part of the way there with their own tool set and gm client.
they're worst than wizards at everything except single target buffs and debuffs, but that's still makes them pretty good.
Of course not because it would be shit. The question is if their own mechanics are any good or if it has a D&D license in name only.
>Unironically Larian made a mistake trying to cash grab on BGIII.
Yes
>They should have made an NWN3 instead
No, that would be even more retarded. They should either make more Divinity games or create a new setting, not more licensed shit to cuck out to.
Yep at this point anyone who played BG back then would be cautious instead of moved by nostalgia, as it begs the question "Why?"
A NWN sequel would be more appropriate, but it wouldn't be a real sequel without creation tools, which they probably aren't interested in developing
>you now remember how godawfully bad the NWN games were
>ynr how everyone praised them despite their being a huge step down from BG and even IWD
>ynr the ugly early 3D models, the generic game assets, the crude dialogue screens, the horrifically samey environments
pls god no, NWN never again
they could have made 3 bgs in the development time they have taken now its a losoe loose if the game feels like baulders gate you will wonder why they didnt use modern tech and if it dosent you will wonder why it does feel like baulders gate
they are fuked unless they make a litteral masterpice be4 tech moves on
nwn2 i got a castle bro settle down
Don't care just give us tools and persistent server support with online gm client.
The whole point is to give a fully customizable engine and creation tools to run your own adventures. A lot of the biggest NWN fans never played the campaign.
>user didn't actually play NWN and just played the tutorial module
>tfw I'm playing through NWN2 right now and understand all of those
It's another one of those games I'll never understand why they're praised, it's so horribly amateurish at everything it tries to do, so clunky and ill designed, and yet I'm one of those people who can't drop a game until I finish it.
>Larian. the only company in the world right now that makes gripping 100+ hour narrative-heavy singleplayer cRPGs should make multiplayer tools and fuck off
I bet you and the people who scuttled Black Isle because it wasn't making a WoW killer would get along really well
good luck one of the only games where i got to a oint and could not continue "i was like 14 tho so " still watcch out for the bridge after you defend ur keep
user you're all over the place. Black Isle closed years before WoW released.
Obsidian and Larian both have terrible humor, I wish they would stop trying so hard to put their shitty humor in their games.
If I could bear with the game until here, I can deal with whatever shit the last chapter pulls.
The other three modules though, I don't t know, I hope either MoTB or SoZ are better than the absolute shitshow of the main campaign at the very least.
Hold on, this is the same studio whose writing gets mocked here almost daily.
>dude FromSoftware made mindflaers popular let's capitalize on it!
How shameful can western devs be?
ye you win the final keep battle head into some hell hole cant leave theres a broidge and ur in the middle 2 fukin annoying boss tier mobs span at each end of the idge if u cant kill them with what u have time to start over or load an earlyer save
>5D ruleset
thats about all you need to know
>Pillars of Eternity 2
Genuinely one of the worst written Western games in the past 20 years, far surpassing Divinity Original Sin 1 in shit writing.
But now they're an epic rpg writing studio. Better get used to it this has happened many times before. Just like how Bethesda writing used to get clowned all the time and now some people think it was the best thing ever.
Larianigger cope
A less cartoonish Larian world grounded in D&D lore and with combat that doesn't include jumping all over the place and blowing everything up? That's all I ever needed to sell me on this title.
