The Cyber Sleuth games are the first Digimon RPGs to not have a ton of flaws. It's impossible for me to go back and play Dawn/Dusk now that I've played CS, there's more improvements in CS than I can count on both hands

It's a common visual theme in Digimon, all the way back to the V-pets. Many digimon at Ultimate/Perfect digimon have metal plating/bones added to them.

I haven't played Cyber Sluts so I don't know if there's anything like this there, but I just want to be able to talk with my mons like in the DS game. The whole personality types and being able to take quests from them was fun. That's why I hope Survive will have you able to talk with your partner and have them involved in the story.

Yeah, they still have personalities in CS and they still talk with you, though this time it's more over e-mail than from a command action. They don't give you quests, but sometimes they do give you a quiz question or send you items

Going by the dev diary, interacting with the Digimon will play a major role, since it seems like it will affect the battles and story to some degree, based on your relationship with them and previous choices you made.
