We get it, you don't like video games

>cartoony linear arena shooter based primarily on pressing X to get melee kill animation
>somehow even remotely related to a classic PC FPS with branching levels, let alone 'recaptures the spirit of it'

I feel like I've gone insane, like I'm the only one even here on Yea Forums who is able to see through the spin to realise that Doom 2016 is much closer to any given cinematic action-adventure console than it is to Doom 1993, or indeed any FPS for the PC. It's honestly more Dishonored than it is Doom.

There's oddly something so satisfying about not aiming and still killing enemies in Doom. Can someone explain this?

Aiming is overrated in fps, makes every skill except twitch aiming useless. Aiming unironically ruined multiplayer fps

>wants backtracking and key hunting in a FPS instead of shooting

my God boomers are fucking stupid

he said he played quake as well,so he must be able to at least aim a little

I just recently beat the first doom on UV. While I did greatly enjoy it, I felt like combat was very simple and even repetitive at some points. I actually think the glory kill system is a very good idea because it incentivizes being aggressive, while in Doom 1, I would end up just running away to find a health pack. I also see that 2016's level design wasn't nearly as good as Doom 1's, especially with all the lock-in arenas. I hope Eternal manages to improve in that regard
