Why is the fire element always the strongest in RPGs? A blizzard, tsunami, tornado and an earthquake is way more devastating than some pussy fire.

stop posting shit, I'm on a nofap streak

I don't understand how cold slows people, while heat does more damage. Frostbite hurts like hell, while heat saps all your strength away, making you slower.

Look up in the sky faggot. Fire is the Chad element, always attributed with command, courage, strength, and willpower.

Sauce?

Because fire is always the do-damage element and doing direct damage is almost always more useful than the utilities that get attached to other elements in most games.
Even the direct damage lightning / ice spells still usually come attached with some kind of slow / freeze / shock / stun effects that sacrifice damage.

Just finished DivOS2 and Lightning is by far the strongest element

and the sun is more devastating than all of those put together

Because the sun can easily melt anything, you dont see any ice suns or earthy suns do you

Is that Lina or that mtg pyromancer gal?

Where my earth bros at?

It’s Lina and the full image is on danbooru

Normal people know how bad fire can be
Who has ever seen a Tsunami and lived to tell the tale?

I've been through a large deadly earthquake once but it was all a blur. There are no tornadoes where I live (nor tsunamis)

Personally I am more into the edgelord shit, but only when it's handled in fun ways. Warlock, Witches, Blood magic, etc.
Out of all games, the best one to handle it was funnily enough Skyforge. Man I miss that shit before it got absolutely fucked.

Because rpg magic users aren't throwing blizzards, tsunamis, tornados, or earthquakes at you. You're getting pelted with a chunk of that element, and magically burning fire is going to be way more damaging than a chunk of ice, a jet or water, or a rock.
Only thing the logically tops a fireball in that regard is a bolt of lightning, which just so happens to be Lina's ult.

>inb4 brainlets crying about Aquarius the rainmaker being in air

Fire is garbage in any CRPG with somewhat good magic system.
Take Baldur's Gate. Tons of fire-immune enemies. Ways to make yourself fully immune to fire. Fireball is forced to compete with another magical nuke on its own spell level and loses completely. Closer to endgame there's barely any fire based abilities worth using save for the ones that straight ignore spell resistance maybe.

it's not that fire is bad, it's that evocation in general is dogshit in D&D

Why is nature always the designated healer element? I want to strangle and impale niggas with thorns and vines, summon fuck huge ass elder tree golems not heal a party member with some “blessing of springs” shit.

I'd say that's water or holy magic. "Nature" magic outside of flinging dirt usually gets ignored altogether, if anything.

It's not about what it's actually capable of, it's about whatnot represents. Where earth is typically stability, water is flexibility or flow, and air is quiet and peace, fire is fury and passion. People associate that representation with damage and violence.

why not both? Thornspike your enemies, then turn them into party-healing mulch

I haven't playe DOTA in years but I miss Lina.
I even had a picture of her fucking Annie from League done a couple years back.

Nature is almost never a healer element in any crpg magic system. It has a few healing spells but usually they aren't as good as cleric's. The main focus of druid/nature magic is raping everything with forces of nature.

The difference between Earth/Air/Water and Fire is that the former are just matter, the latter is abstract energy.

just earth faggy, krakatoa caused tidal waves as well, water just exists to get pushed around by chad fire and earth

Yeah I'm sure the destruction it caused was in the form of a lot of rocks being thrown around and not a massive fireball.

I don't know what I was expecting but thanks anyway

fire was tame

I want to play a game where “holy magic” has an offensive build where you can smite heathens

Funnily, Tree of Savior (as meme of an MMO as it is) allows you to do just that in their cleric tree, with several classes in it devoted entirely to fucking shit up. Conjuring lightning, giant holy lasers and summoning torture wheels and even a holy spear of fuck you that falls from the sky.

Has any game ever done air/wind magics well?

It's a video game character who likes to pretend she's Lina.

depends on the universe, but fire is naturally the most flashy magic and tends to be favored over other elements. Plus it lends itself well to making passionate hotheads that use the magic, be they just easy to anger or tsundere as fuck.

Why is fire associated with the color red when it's clearly orange.

The only element stronger than heat is gravity and it takes an exploding heat ball to form a gravity well stronger than said heat ball.

>taurus
>materialistic
Nah

Gravity is the weakest of the forces though. Therefore fire < earth < lightning.

Heat destroys everything and will lead to the death of the universe.

Psh, gravity is such a strong force that it can bend other forces to its whims.

>nofap
Why? on day 2 myself. Fapping stopped being fun so just seeing how long i can go

absence of heat leads to the death of the universe, not heat

Fire will always bow to lightning

Because imagine a fire on the scale of any of those 3 disasters. Fire has to be nerfed irl because of how fucking destructive it can be. And in the rare cases when it does actually break out on the scale similar to those, then you're completely fucked.

>playing dirt grids, wasting mats on earth revs
Ew

Heat death isn't caused by absence of heat, it's caused by decay converting energy into useless heat.

It is situationally useless, it's one of the two ways to kill tross for example. But thank fucking god it's not a generic DPS element.

Hot. Can I fuck him?

Ice has a hard cap of -273 degrees while fire damage can increase indefinitely

Playing MGQ paradox rn And oppai imp does like 2000 fire damage a turn at level 9
Is this supposed to happen?

Fire is always dangerous, while the other shit you mentioned needs to be in gigantic quantities. A proper "fiery" equivalent of an earthquake, tornado or tsunami would be a fucking nuke

>Electric cloud residue will bow to planet destroying nuclear fusion

"No".

There are two wolves inside of you.
They're both gay.

Conversely; you can swat away fire, but you can't swat away getting an ice spear inside your anus.

i suggest we change the wind and aero and merge them both with earth.

on the other hand getting hit with a rock in the head is instantly fatal while fire takes a while

same thing with getting high with a relatively small amount of water in the form of a pressure jet

and with air, it doesn't take a lot to generate an embolism

>while fire takes a while
I wouldn't call less than a second a while. Stop using camp fire heat as your base.

you're the one saying that you can't use a "lot" of something
2000K+ fire is certainly WAY more than a rock

Plasma cutters aren't that big.

All Scorpiolosers worship big dick cancer chads

they also don't kill as quickly as high velocity rock

Water has better waifus. Fire is overrated.

Attached: C4BDF275-0B39-431F-BFDD-874956665458.jpg (1085x1200, 212K)

Sure they do. High velocity rock just has more range.

I'm not so sure about that. In Lightcrusader, for example, earth and wind are stronger. In Diablo and PoE it's probably lighting based spells. In FFVII the strongest elemental spell was comet I think.

When RPGs play with elements they have to toy with two factors. One is affinities and the other is added effects. Since affinities is obvious the only differentiator left is giving each element a unique effect.
I guess water is for healing, ice is for impairing movement, earth probably for defense or knocking down foes and the only thing you can really add to fire is more damage (like overtime damage or damage amplification).

Materialistic is just taking practicality and grounded realism to the negative extreme.

For me, it's Arcane

Don't SMT games have offensive holy magic?

didn't know johnny depp was in a video game

Probably Divinty games when mixed with lightning.

>A blizzard, tsunami, tornado and an earthquake is way more devastating than some pussy fire.
I guarantee you, a supernova or a nuclear explosion are more dangerous than any of that pussy shit.

An earth sun will bury everything in its effect radius.

I remember this game. They had some dope classes like cryomancer but the instance based world turned me off.

yeh but none of those contain any fire and an earthquake contains vastly more energy and destruction than a nuke

Why choose one when you can have all?

Because typically

Fire: highest straightforward damage with more damage through dots

Wind: high damage with highest actual dps output through building haste

Earth: medium damage output with cc, usually extra effective against players and trash mobs

Water/ice: medium damage with buffs and crits
