I have enjoyed and put many hours into it, but I cannot help but mention that it gets worse with every patch and dlc because of Paradox's heavy reliance on mana points and big, colorful buttons to push

God I wish M&T was more stable, it's what EUIV should be

I like the setting more, but CKII is a much better game.

the moment golden century came out with a couple of mission trees I realized they were going to use the new mission system they introduced as new avenue to shit out more DLC. rather than giving nations a unique flavor and push them towards their historical expansion. Seriously its insane how jewy paradox is. I wish for once they showed restraint and instead just asked the community to make a bunch of mission trees to release for free. The least they could do for tearing the system apart.

For almost the whole development cycle of the game I kept feeling that it was just one patch away from making the game incredible, and yet that one patch never came, and in fact at times it slid backwards a little.
As it stands, I really enjoy the mechanics that are there, especially having to do with warfare and expansion, but they never made domestic mechanics, even though they had many, many chances to do it.

Pretty bad, a lot of useless provinces.

Have put about 2k hours into it. Very fun game, with the only real problem being the business practices of the devs, and how each update makes the game worse.

Used to play this game non stop. At the time there were like 3 or 4 expansions out and it was manageable. Over time they kept piling and piling DLC upon DLC and updates on the game until it became something that just wasn’t the same. Quit because of the DLC policy basically. Same thing with CK2.

It'll still run kinda crappy but it won't crash every 5 years
they're also adding a bunch of new features expanding upon the pop system and making production more in depth at the same time as making it easier to understand

for base EUIV it won't be that big a performance increase, the biggest effect will be on mods that push the game to it's breaking limit like MEIOU
