People ignore that he's a pretty weak villain in a conventional narrative sense because of how well his lore in the setting is written, and because of how well his handful of dialogue is delivered.
Dagoth Ur himself, having no real interaction with the PC within the story other than as the source of evil that needs to be stopped, is a MacGuffin. If you had just walked into the Heart chamber and it was empty of everything except the Heart itself, the central story of Morrowind wouldn't really be all that different.

I just figured it out in this thread. At first I was like "Bullshit! There's no way it just says 'salt rice'.", but then I looked again, and then I realized I've been retarded for over a decade :(

Quick say something negative about morrowinds game design choices so no not just its buggy. For me it always bugs me that you can start a game and the first time you fall asleep you can be attacked by a dark brotherhood assassin who is extremely deadly to completely fresh character. They should had been tied to a level or main quest point. The other thing that bugs me is daedric armor rarity. Yes I know it should be rare but the extent some pieces are hidden is truly ludicrous like the pauldron on top of an ice berg in the effectively the middle of nowhere.

Dark Brotherhood attack is an oversight (it's a way to tie in expancion pack, and you was supposed to install it as a already capable character) so there is a mod to delay it until you progress enough in the main story. Actually, assassins are autoleveled, and they are not much of a threat, they are more like a source of income, and yes, you amass incredible amount of money, this is an issue. Basically, all the Morrowind's game design is broken unless you fix it with roleplaying autism.

Using MGE, Code Patch and MWSE and the game gets stutter in the overworld, like it's "loading" a new map, and I get pretty low FPSs across the board. Just the other day I was modding Oblivion and that was a headache too. I'm starting to think this whole mod bee's wax is just a huge meme.

I actually liked that about the daedric armor, kept me playing longer because i was always finding upgrades.

5 years ago I played it for the first time, heavily modded and it sucked because of the mods. I uninstalled everything and only applied bugfixes and now I have over 700 hours in it. Mods such as ones that improve graphics and details are incompatible with a first playthrough. Because of how little the game tells you and how much it relies on you finding your own way on the terms of the world it creates, any extra detail actually works against you and you will have a hard time finding your way around. Play it with the original shit graphics if you want to make any sense of it.
