No, Razor Hill doesn't mean anything. I don't know why Goldshire took off. The Crossroads is almost what Goldshire is to the horde, except you won't find max level Horde players hanging around at the Crossroads. My suspicion is that to reach Razor Hill from Orgrimmar you have to run through a ravine and it 'feels' like a longer journey, whereas to get to Goldshire from Stormwind you just follow a path through the forest.
