The thing is, i would've been excited for this if this had come after Halo 4. Halo 4 was shit, but it didn't fuck up too much in the grand scale of things, it was still possible to give chief a new AI (i personally would've liked a Johnson AI) or just clone cortana and make up bullshit about how she survived, return to the old halo formula and then pretend 4 never happened, but Halo 5 just utterly dicked Halo's universe into the shadow-realm. You can't just pretend it never happened, unless you go for a full "It was just a dream Chief had when he was in cryosleep" reboot or "just set it x years in the future with a new protagonist" reboot, which would've been cheap, but the only thing that would've gotten me excited. Now, the whole returning to its roots, returning to the old art style, returning the old gameplay etc. means nothing, because not only is it taking two steps back and two steps forward and calling it progress, but its far too late now since halo is a series that is now fundamentally broken.
