Man, I just finished P3 for the first time last week. I'd always planned on playing a Persona game at some point, but Joker getting into Smash is what finally pushed me to try one. I went in knowing absolutely nothing about the series other than Adachi is the killer.
Holy shit, P3 was fucking great. It's not perfect (Tartarus is mind numbing and the villains suck), but I really enjoyed it. It's easily in my top games of all time already.
Also, I almost never cry at media of any kind, at most I just tear up, but that ending fucking broke me.
What's the deal with The Answer? My friend who is like a Persona expert told me not to bother, and if I really wanted to I should take a break before doing it. What's you guys' opinion?

People really didn't like Yukari's actions there even if they were understandable given her personality. Nore did people like the ridiculous difficulty. See, Yukari went through the five stages of grief in that mini arc, and the gameplay is a pain in the ass since you can no longer use the tools you had when you were controlling Makoto thus making gameplay even more of a slog it's better to just watch the entire thing on Youtube then move on to Persona 4 Golden, then watch the story of persona arena and ultimax on youtube, then watch the persona 4 dancing all night story on youtube, then play persona 5 or wait for royal
Oh, but I recommend the persona 3 drama CDs as they talk about two character that appear in Persona arena and ultimax in passing so you know at least who the fuck they are

The Answer is a backloaded game where you do nothing but go through a Tartarus stand in for 70% of the game and get plot dumps at the beginning and end. There is no compendium which to give an example of how annoying that makes things, imagine if in Pokemon, everytime you wanted to catch a new one you had to go back to Route 1 and catch three Pidgeys first. Also after a certain point, the red enemies become way too strong to be worth your time or resources which is annoying. Some of the bosses are neat though with the final boss being way better than Nyx.
