It works shockingly well actually. Healing takes some getting used to, but once you've added the expanded hotbars and messed with the targeting settings a bit, it works just as well as keyboard.

Like the one mechanic that doesn't work on controller very well in the heat of battle without macros is BLM's warp to ally move, but that's not that critical.
