Try out all vocations (classes) in the first couple of hours and find something you like.
They play very differently and it's a completely different game depending on what you pick.
Also you can get a goat to warm you with her skin at night.

Also don't go out of your way to do the quests you get on the billboards, just grab some of them every once in a while and you'll be completing them as you progress naturally through the story

>Try out all vocations (classes) in the first couple of hours and find something you like.

Can I change as much as I want? I swear I read somewhere that playing different classes can fuck up your stats or something
And can I really get pets? Goats are cute

Stick with it until after the cart escort mission
The beginning of the game fucking sucks

you can change them on a whim and stats matter very little late game you'll be steam rolling every thing because getting overleveled in this game is easy.
and yeah bro you can get a cute goat as a pet

It costs experience the first time you try a vocation.

A tip: Wolves hunt in packs.

Good luck Arisen.

Adding to this, kick the bull to make it go faster.

Kill yourself.

Enemies spawn in the same places.
Exploration is kino

is no slander beneath (you)?

Remember to rest at taberns once in a while to get nice rewards when you wake up.

Turn off pawn chatter in your settings.
Wolves hunt in packs.
The game feels much different after you escort the cart to Gran Soren.
They're masterworks all you can't go wrong.
When Grigori dies you doom the world into ruin.
The Everfall will expand its rift and fuck shit up.
The Duke will become a grandpa and the Dragonforged will die.
The Seneschal is practically God.
The world is stuck in an unending cycle.
Bitterblack Isle's final boss is Daimon, whom fell in love with his waifu pawn and became a demon because he fell into despair from the Dragon's choice and his fate.
All roads lead to Gran Soren.
Refund your broken POS game.

Man his voice actor really nailed it. loved the accent.

Second greatest game ever made

Your taste must be awful. The base game is laughably easy and is carried hard by its only expansion which gear gates very early on unless you cheese the bosses with Throwblasts.

>games are only judged based on their difficulty
Retard logic

Action games should be. What use is there for mechanical depth or challenge if the enemies are DMC2 levels of retarded and easy to breeze through?

1. Do not let the escort mission sway you from the game

2. Once you get to Gran Soren make SURE to switch up your starting vocation to something more viable and rewarding. This game has PERMANENT stat gains on level up and EVERY VOCATION has different stat spreads per level. The level cap is 200, and the BEST STAT GAIN is during levels 1-100. For melee builds you want assassin from 10/15-100 and for magic builds you want Sorcerer from 10/15-100. From 100 onwards you can build whatever the shit you want.

3. Always have oil for your lantern

The most important piece advice I can give is experiment as much as you can. There's a lot going on in this game that you'll miss the first time around in terms of everything. Don't be afraid to mix and match your skills and augments and have a little fun with the vocations regarding you and your pawn.

What stat growths should I do for the hybid jobs that utilize magic?

Fun factor?

Recently started playing this too and the character creation is driving me nuts, I have no idea what height or weight I should make my character

Never make a short character unless you want to get 'Drenched'd status effect in almost every place/dungeon with water.

Uninstall the game and never look back. You've been meme'd

I made a really tall character but he ended up looking completely goofy and lanky so I started over. Pretty annoying that you have to play through the tutorial again to make a new character

Don't listen to this minmaxing autist, bitterbutt gear more then makes up for the stats you lost.

Warrior is the most gimped class but also the most based

You can buy a permanent appearance-changer in the post-game.

There's a chart for that. Also don't take to heart what said about switching Vocations right away. What he neglects to mention is that some skills are shared between Vocations while augments can be used with any Vocation you pick as long as you've learned it. While the advanced and hybrids usually have the better augments there's still some worthwhile ones in the basic Vocations.

In the meantime I'll keep dropping stat charts or anything else helpful.

If you're going into magic knight it's a special case.
I forget how it goes, exactly, but you really have to plan it out to be as effective as possible.
Essentially, from levels 10 to 50 assassin for pure attack grrowth, 50 to 100 sorcerer for magic growth, and then in the 100 to 200 range it's all about smoothing the build out.
This applies to both Magic Knight and Magic Archer since both of those focus on a decent amount of STR with their skills. You still prioritize magic growth, but you need your STR to not be too far behind in order to get those chad damage numbers in.

Literally disregard this post and don't look back OP.
This game is fucking easy as shit without minmaxing autism.
The only factor you should consider when picking a vocation is wether you're having fun with it or not.
even The least dps dealing vocation in this game can breeze through the base game and feel fun as fuck doing it.

Oh alright thanks, that’s a relief

In regards to the whole min maxing ordeal, just read this. I'm surprised this image isn't shared more often the minute somebody brings it up.

t. people who get their shit kicked in at Bitterblack isle.

>using spreadsheets for videogames
Autist.

>started as a mage->sorc, but found it difficult/boring
>switch to mystic knight, have fun
>switch back to sorc to barrel through for that Articulacy augment
>suddenly having loads of fun with sorc
I don't fully get it, but I'm not gonna question it.

pursue fornication

>You just need better gear
>Can never get it because your stats are shit and you need to actually play BB isle to even get a chance at any kind of the super randomized loot

ebin

Magick Archer stats are such ass, jesus.

t. brown loli healslut

The differences are actually pretty big.

Today i will remind them

Video games are spreadsheets with graphics.

You get a quest to help your qt friend new the beginnning of the game. Don't put it off, quests expire.

Kill the inn keeper at gran soren ASAP, if you don't he touches you in your sleep

Just a jape, friend.
Just...my japes.

Good thread, minus the jack ass that spoiled the game.

What would you like to see in a sequel fellas?

>DDO vocations + new ones
>Expand the hybrid vocations to pawns
>Co-operative play in some shape or form
>More status inflictions/debuffs/ailments/etc.
>More deep dungeons ala BBI

pastebin.com/28gD5k75

make your pawn as tall as possible it makes them able to carry more

I'd love to see vocations get more weapon types to use
and I always like seeing unarmed combat get expanded, that'd be neat

- Strider is best starting class.
- Let the little girl just barely win the race.
- Give the Gold Idol to titty monster, not the blacksmith.
- Augments carry over between classes. This is kinda the main progression system besides regular skill unlocks.
- You can change classes whenever.
- Wolves hunt in packs.

Ignore this dumbass.

Stats are irrelevant and you need to ignore them or you won't enjoy the game. Do not let minmaxers give you advice on this game, they are literally clueless retards.

The pay off comes from building your stats from the other vocations and using those gains to devastate with Magick Archer.

Yeah no shit. If you want to go for something more magic based then use the more magic based vocations, it's that simple. You can still build your character however you want. Just don't expect to be Gandalf after spending 50 levels as Fighter and Warrior.

>not making your pawn a cute little support slut

Different classes/vocations that aren’t just ye olde mage, warrior and ranger mixes.
How about a shapeshifting druid, bard or monk.

Coop

Better graphics and general refinements

Transmogging

Larger scale battles

Recent research has shown character speed is only dependent on the torso you picked.

>not BEING the support slut
its like you're gay or something

Did the actually have the budget for any of that

You can use periapts to make up the difference until its no longer needed. Even then, you don't need to because the game is balanced in such a way that you always have availability of the next weapon "tier" before your own strength falls off.

People do Level 1 Bitterblack runs, keep in mind.

They really aren't, even with additive defense systems. And, again, periapts exist.

Honestly? The most I could ask for is that the core game doesn't change that much.

Just the same framework, with more content on better hardware in a new world. The most important thing is new classes, new monsters and a better open world, and a Dark Arisen-tier endgame.
More importantly, Itsuno should aim to keep the same zany nonsense from the first one. I want all the bullshit romance mechanics, killable NPCs, dumb pawns with stupid dialogue, all the "soul" that made DD1 such a weird gem.

a finished game

>Short people have more stamina and speed than tall people.
Is this what the devs actually believed?

All lolis destroyed.

Nevermind I'm retarded

even in numbers, a weakling is a weakling still
