my honest thoughts on Tifa's design. I like the sports bra in theory because I do think her boobs flopping around without a bra would look stupid. I'm undecided on whether it being a prominent black is good or not. It's one of her core colors but it makes her "messy", it adds unnecessary detail to an intrinsically basic design. I like the mini-skirt. I don't think I like the thigh highs. People are going to take issue with this but it adds an unnecessary "Japanese" aspect to Tifa that doesn't need to be there. Tifa's design is a mixture of a bar slag with a fighter. Weird thigh highs don't fit. Her face varies from horrible looking to fine. Overall she looks better than I expected she'd look and this is the best official realistic version of Tifa ever made. However, the fact that everyone else has been a home run and the fact that a lot of the major detriments to her design were things that didn't have to be there mean that I can't help but think what if when I think of her.

this is the most wrong that anybody has ever been. All FFVII characters are functionally the same outside of their Limits. You could make Aerith your main physical attacker and there would not be a notable difference in DPS between her and Tifa outside of their Limits.

She doesn't look like that in game. She doesn't have the anime look, she has the hyper realistic CGI look. And the more detail you add to a character, the more things the viewer will have to nitpick and find fault in.

People on Yea Forums love to complain about anime all the time. But the designs hold up so well because simplifying something as much as possible means it will appeal to a larger audience. It's called iconification. This is how a blocky, ugly model in the original FFVII is still beloved to this day. While hyper realistic Tifa is already hated before the game even comes out.
