I never eat greasy food while gaming, usually just fruit slices and stuff. That said, I'm always drinking tea and I tend to spill it a lot so I use cheapo peripherals.

Only problem I have with it is that it makes me want beer

For something that's available pretty much everywhere and to get an idea and taste of it, Jack Links is actually really good. There's quite a bit of flavors too but I'd stick with original for your first taste. If you get a taste for jerky and enjoy it, Cattleman's Cut is great stuff for a more premium tasting jerky.
