MGR was a great take on the MG serie and i want more.
and MGR2 can happen since the producer of MGRR became the main MG producer at Konami, the writer also still seem to be at the company (he was at least, not seeing in the nu kojipro, or anywhere since his last work on V 4 years ago:)
meanwhile at Platinum, the director isn't working on anything known (he isn't the astral chain guy) and he still tweet a LOT about MG and MGR. + Platinum said they had multiple projects for the future (and not all are original IP.)

MGA1 was good but flawed, but suprisingly, MGA2 fixed almost all the problems of MGA1 and added new content.
and just like MGRR, MGA1 and 2 weren't made by Kojima, and used a different gameplay.

but the original team who worked on MGS:R (that wasn't canceled by the staff but Kojima because they "took too much time") is still at Konami. same for most who did MGRR (the Konami staff)
