N Tropy is for tryhards

Its to do wit the angle from what I've seen. It's a lot easier if you are perpendicular to the wall when you make the jump, you can't just do it from any angle like the original. I said in the last thread, the edge of the drive-able area in the half pipe sections is a bit dodge compared to the original.

Depends, if you struggle to line up in the short amount of time, I'd say turning, but speed seems to be the optimal class overall this time around. That being said I haven't attempted the ghost on that track yet.

-No, and that was a glitch, not intended.
-Yes, hops can't be spammed anymore, but they have lower gravity than the original.
-Speedghost now only works in the air. Jumping downhill makes gravity kick in really hard and it increases speed. Not as effective.

you have daily bonuses, which is 200, 400+ in first place. after a few wins, you get only twice what you'd get oflline. Pro tip, avoid tracks that award 40 or less coins in solo mode, those will always give you 400 or less coins. ideally, go for tiny arena or electron avenue, those award the most.

Build up as much speed as possible before you reach it. As soon as you start spiraling up, let go of accelerate, jump, brake+down+right, land, jump, brake+hold down+right, land, go.

You need a bit of boost going into it and you need to hug the wall for a quicker entry, but iirc speed characters don't need boost.

I find the shortcut in Cortex castle and the last one in Papu's Piramid actually easier than the original.

I was one in the Original, Tiny that is. May be again as he has a COMMUNIST MILITARY COSTUME. How did this pass censors? Communist=Nazi qua badness to some nationalities.

When jumping, turn in the direction you want to go (left turn, hop and turn to the left) once drifting turn the opposite direction to compensate and drive in a more straight path. Press opposite shoulder button you initially used to enter drift when the smoke turns black/tires turn yellow or the bar in the bottom right turns red. The more full the bar the better.

The karts have really sharp handling and you don't need to enter a drift at full steer. In fact, I would recommend being at full countersteer when it starts to correct the oversteer, at least in the remake.

That's not that impressive. Just learn the maps and practice drift boosting. The longer you wait before activating the boost, the stronger it is, learn the timing and you'll get max boosts consistently. Something the game doesn't tell you is that youre more agile while in the air, even when hopping. Hop around corners where drifting isn't viable to make sharper turns. You can also air brake, making sharp turns in the air without the loss of speed.

Finally fucking beat Tropy at Cortex Castle. That felt harder than the PS1 version which was also fucking glitched

Because in MK, you jump while going straight and start getting the angle mid air, then you can immediately countersteer to stay straight.

For Cortex Castle, the time needed to unlock the Tropy ghost was in fact faster than the Tropy and Oxide times

The only reason I haven't unlocked Tropy yet is because I beat also Oxide before moving to the next track.

Coming as a major fan of the original, the controls are more or less spot on, drift wise. The characters have been reworked slightly in order to make them all more balanced and Coco and N. Gin aren't significantly better anymore, but in doing so, speed classes are a little too easy now imo. The physics and hitboxes can be a bit off in a few select locations, like when drifting at a certain angle on a ramp in deep sea driving I would occasionally clip the edge wrong and I'd crash and fall off the map for seemingly no reason. Short cuts like the pond jump and the one in sewer speedway are a bit harder to pull off, but overall it is incredibly faithful.

It doesn't unfortunately. I can only hope that they use the CTRTV that they've established with Chick & Stu to bring that in a future update because being able to review ghosts or replays in general would be pretty great. Maybe not as a highlight reel like MK does for its cups but just a general replay system.
I want online ghost leaderboards though, racing against the dev and community ghosts is planned as Grand Prix challenges so there's no reason to not also include a general leaderboard.

Relics are grueling because you have to care about the boxes on a lot of tracks. Time trials are just goesfast.

There's not much trickery to it, just maintain the USF from the space jump (hop on the turn, don't slide) and try your damnedest not to run into walls

I had some decent oxide-beating times set by them on a few of the trickier tracks while still wanting to have higher top speed than the other 2 non-speed classes. Once I get better at airbraking and U-turns I might not use them in favor of topspeed karts but we'll see.

That's what I'm starting to realize. There's also one jump where if you hit it wrong, you just go straight into the air (not forward), it's weird.

Every single class is viable and have some sort've niche in multiplayer.
