I miss when games were primarily marketed at children. I think that's the biggest difference between then and now. The stuff I grew up with is only made by indies nowadays because AAA devs are under the mistaken impression that I want something different because I'm older. Because of the epic gamers , they claped at every shit the big videogame company throw at them and that videogame company notice that they could give the gamers Shit in a present box and they would like it.

So we got unfinished games , DLC on day 1 , loot boxes and the same game over and over with a few graphical change (for example COD , battlefield , fallout from 3 and on)

its not like the old game didnt came all finished and pulished , old games from the Snes years also came incomplete with game breaking bugs and with shit gameplay but others ones came without bugs and welll polished (wich are the known games to this day and time from said old consoles)

I know for a fact that fps games were OBJECTIVELY better back in the 2000's. Better single player map designs, less visual noise, no trannies, more skill based arena style shooters
