MC's wind tornado ability can turn into a fire tornado with Amber's doll explosion.
Shocking enemies on fire causes them to explode.
You can freeze wet enemies with Ice. Ice also causes walkable terrain on water.
Fire can burn wooden shields, etc.

Anyway, the answer is that you just switch characters on the go with the press of a button, which I don't know how you could possibly find that confusing but that is indeed the typical combat system for ARPGs with multiple characters so it sounds like this is not the game for you.

We have no clue if there will be a gacha system or microtransactions, it's just speculation based on some of the questions in the survey
It will most likely be an extension of their mobile game, Honkai Impact 3. The main gacha was for characters and their specilized equipment. They were pretty generous with free gear that was grindable. What they offered to F2P was some pretty powerful gear to be honest. The gacha gear was mainly for whales to jerk off on leaderboards.
I expect that there will be F2P characters you can grind to get and rank up, with rotating focused gacha on premium only characters. They tend to be pretty good "out of the box" so to speak. But the F2P characters are on par or better so long as you grind out the proper gear and character.
I'm hoping the PC version of the game is a standard game where you don't have to grind anything and there is no gacha, and the mobile port has that stuff and is free to play
If this is the case, please give Honkai the same treatment. I'd like to use the big titty greatsword girl without being swarmed by mobage shit.

When you first start it feels like a Bayonetta clone (the first girl uses guns similarly and basically has wicked weaves in the form of big cat paws that come out of portals, and you get a fake Witch Time) without the ability to jump, but then you unlock other characters and it becomes more of a team synergy game with some Bayo elements. Other characters have other weapons/playstyles (katana girl, floating loli with cannons that do continuous fire, big titty greatsword girl, etc. plus different variations of each character). You upgrade each girl to improve their skills, their weapons, their passives, their cooldown attack, and their damage.
The one thing I think is really cool is that not only can you switch between characters at will, but if you're fulfilling a certain condition, you can tap them and they'll do a special super when they come in. Gives the game some solid flow, switching between characters without breaking your combos, and some supers are extra helpful for constant switching, like the loli creates a black hole that sucks characters in, so you can switch to the slow greatsword girl to destroy them all in a few swipes.
I think it's a solid time if you just play the story missions and ignore all the mobage shit.

I didn't get super far, not enough to get many variations. I also played a couple of those side stories that take place in more fantasy type settings where I don't understand the story at all. It was just a game to pass the time on my phone but classes pushed me away from it after a month. Maybe I'll go back, give it a good 30-60 minutes per session so I don't deal with stamina shit.

i've never played honkai impact, but you can use your other members supers with alt+number. for example, alt+1 would swap to the next member and use their super immediately.
If you played Honkai Impact you also know that the combat in a phone game was a million times better than what BOTW offered.

People are whining about the dungeon limit thing, but that post specifies "dungeon quest". So does that mean you can play the dungeon itself an unlimited amount of times and it's only the quests that are limited?
I just noticed something, most NPCs cower when you attack near/at them. But if you're attacking with Barbara, they clap like your putting on a show.
each dungeon may have 1 or more quests/dungeons in it. the image i posted is the level 28 dungeon and only has 1, so it's 3 per day. the lvl 24 dungeon actually has a lvl 21 and a lvl 24 inside of it, so they get 3 each for a total of 6.
and then a pic for reference. you can do the 21 3-times a day and the 24 3-times a day.

The GP in BotW alone is filled with puzzle shrines, environmental puzzles, enemy encampments, wildlife to hunt and resources to gather all densely packed within a much shorter distance than this Chinese ripoff has shown so far. Know the facts about your competition before you start shilling.
finding chests for adventurer rank (dungeons also give this, it's the blue exp on those images). also finding orbs to turn in at a shrine to increase stamina cap. I don't know how/if they'll expand on this when the game releases, it's still a year out.
I've got a couple of theories; purchasable extra attempts, an attempt to limit exponential growth of superautist players finishing all the content significantly faster than they can update the game, and/or lastly an attempt to curb recent gaming addiction laws and stipulations that China have introduced before they get targeted since that can cripple a game.
I really hope they add switch/qte's, that's one thing I enjoyed in Honkai, and I always base my team around it, like Night Squire Fu Ha's combo into uppercut switch to Miko with her three slash wave followed by one slash + regular combo that can keep the enemy afloat until Fu Ha can switch into her ground pound into combo uppercut and repeat.
I see, but that requires a character's super to be charged? In Honkai you just need to fulfill a certain condition, like stun the enemy, break their shields or launch enemy into the air to activate a qte move.
