I don't remember bosses where you can drag down everyone around you. Except Thunder God in ivalice raid. You can clear EX with very bad dps too. People just don't tolerate teaching others. But well a lot of them are students and kids.

Meters help with optimizing your gameplay, but they aren't at all a necessity for playing your class the way it's designed to be played or for understanding boss mechanics and how a fight works.

There is more to raiding than just dps.

If you have tanks who fail mechanics and die, healers who can't heal properly, dps who get hit by tons of shit and put unnecessary strain on the healers and other dps or force enrage because their dps isn't up to par, all of those things among more can cause failure, wipes, and drag the rest of your group down.

We're not talking about someone fucking up, or someone who is an average or even below average player. It's when people refuse to learn fight mechanics or figure out the basics of how their class is supposed to function because they "don't want to take the game seriously" it is just lazy and disrespectful. 'dotting' is applying damage over time spells, Miasma and Bio, to everything. At your level, its casting Miasma and Bio on one target, then using Bane to spread it. its just what the style of dps arcanist/scholar and summoner (until much later) is called. Bard is also a 'dot' class.

Eos should be on obey, so you can tell her when to use Whispering Dawn, her aoe heal over time spell. Selene is pretty smart and can just be on Sic and function just fine. In most situations you'll want Eos as Whispering Dawn and her other abilities let you dps more

I could accept job quests going the way of the dodo just because most jobs are running out of material to work with without retreading ground. Role quests sound pretty light on content though, but I'll withhold judgement until I see them. I'd be pretty happy if instead of simply getting one quest at 80, we got another at 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, etc.

Basically you're seeing the downside of having so much actual armor be the in the game; whenever someone breaks the predetermined mold, artists need to go back and manually fix EVERY single head piece. The only real way to fix it is to completely nuke it and rework it from the ground up as a real job.

Heat is the worst mechanic in the game, even worse than lillies which may benefit the WHM every now and then accidentally. A class that revolves around planets align cooldowns that has an almost random one that doesn't line up with no way to control it effectively till 10 levels after the mechanic is released.
