Literally Forgotten Hope 2. Free standalone mod for Battlefield 2 that's a bit dead now but still gets a lot of players in the evenings. Spearhead is an overhaul mod does the following things: - Does not rely on commanders and bulletins for starters, so no need to use those anymore - Allows you to pick from six doctrines, each with their own bonuses, abilities and units. You can effectively see the doctrines as commanders but they feel far more bigger. - Replaces the shitty waterpistol combat with much more lethal combat. Shit like artillery are actually fucking dangerous. The Brummbär is unironically my favorite tank in Spearhead.

True, but you gotta look from their perspective. Britain and France had already folded over Rheinland, Austria, and Czechoslovakia (twice). Why would they draw the line now, over a shithole that's farther from them and less important to them, plus had a ton of ethnic germans since the whole Polish state was carved out of Imperial Germany post-WWI? As for Barbarossa, by the time they decided on that Germany had already lost. It was either strike now when the Red Army's reorganizing and draw the war out a couple of years, or wait for Stalin to start the war and drive straight to Berlin.
