Play online. You get 500+ WCs for each race. Most I’ve gotten is 800 for butchering everyone else.
It drops after a while tho.

The bubble shield is better than the mask, though. Ten wumpas and you can hold it indefinitely while also carrying another item.

Remember to back up your saves occasionally. Some people apparently have had the game crash and corrupt their file.

I know that's how it was in the original but I don't think it's a problem. It's already pretty rare and it's constant protection against clock + what the other user said about holding another item.

Get 10 fruit and the warp orb will hit everyone in front of you. With less than 10, the orb will only hit the 1st placed and some unlucky chumps that get in the way.

Idk what happened before but the game kept crashing on me when it tried to connect to the online mode or the pit stop. I was afraid it would corrupt my stuff.

Yeah, there's no reason the mask shouldn't be available in 1st when the bubble is also available and way better. As well as the timing being difficult the mask can really fuck up your line on blue fire tracks. Blue fire + mask is borderline uncontrollable

Some of the maps were quite pretty and well designed, but the driving physics were and are atrocious

Jungle boogie and Wumpa tower are pretty good.

The CNK tracks have been nerfed, though, whole sections were cut or simplified to make them around CTR track length. Hyper Spaceway was hit especially badly, this game's iteration of it is just 50% of the original.

How do I make sharp turns in the air without losing my boost? I'm letting go of X and holding O, which makes me do a sharp turn in the air, but It's usually not curved turn and more of a sharp turn. At the end I usually feel like I'm losing my speed and lose my boost when I land.

It's pretty good, but casuals are very butthurt they can't beat people that are actually good at the game.

If you are a casual fan of the original you will love this as long as you stay away from hard mode
If you are a more skilled/autistic player you will hate it for an hour or so and then quickly fall in love with the new mechanics

The controls are the same. The collision physics on some maps are different.
Oxide station is way different and the sewer speedway shortcut is a 50:50 chance even with the X3 perfect powerslide.
Online play is excellent.

If you notice, his model in Twinsanity looks really slapped together too. He's just an edit of Crash with a different texture. He wasn't going to be in the game.

It just feels subtly different if you're very familiar with the original, it really throws you off. This was always going to be the case though, once you get over it you'll have fun

It is a good remake, but some things still need work with future updates. For one thing they need to make the drifting a little tighter, I think every mini-turbo sends you too far forward and sewer speedway has problems to say the least.

The shortcut is fucked, for some reason players sometimes get it and sometimes don't with the same inputs

Trying to ride up the walls in the halfpipe sections feels nothing like the original at all and it also kills your reserves half the time, and the shortcut is VERY picky on when it wants to work, and even when it does work, sometimes you don't get quite enough height and you get stuck on the edge.

I think the common complaint is about the walls fucking up drifting and boosts.

I'm pretty sure the mask Penta Penguin gets is randomly decided at the beginning of the race. It's not 1:1 to the glitch in the original.

Drifting on the walls makes you go up vertically and will make you do a 180° if you aren't careful. I don't get how they could fuck that up when the Android Valley walls near the train are fine.

The original CTR only had Coco as a playable female character, the entire game was a sausagefest. Adding Tawna and the Trophy Girls as unlockable in the next Prix was a good choice

160 is the rate you earn for 1st place on very long tracks when Wumpa Time is over. Switching class didn't matter.

I'm not sure about that, I've gotten 160 in Jungle Boogie after switching classes and I've also gotten only 40 for first place in Sewer Speedway.
I really wanted to die, grinding for hours only to see 40 coins for 1st. I thought the rewards were going to decrease even further.

There’s a number of factors to it.

1. Track length: the longer the track, the more coins it gives you. The base costs are 40, 80, 120 and 160.
2. Placement: this one’s pretty obvious, rewards are reduced I’d you don’t win.
3. Character class: it’s not characters in particular but their class that reduces the rewards. Always use a class different to the one you just used if you don’t want to get gimped rewards.
4. Daily multiplier: your first couple races get a x5 multiplier on them. I think it stops once you’ve earned 4k coins but I’m not certain on the specifics yet.

Next lap I'll do the same thing and it repeats. Generally finish in like ,2-4th. Is there a shortcut in the level?

You need the boost bar at the bottom right corner to be completely filled at the start of the race. Pressing the acceleration only once doesn't fill it, you need at least two presses. Don't wait too much between each press and don't hold the press for too long.

Problem for me is I can never get a USF boost to begin with.
Do you have to just hope you don't hit a wall after getting the USF from the jump before the weird blue super boost tunnel?
And as for shortcuts, not that I've found. You can hop over the holes in that one area but besides that it's pretty strict on where you can go.

You get longer boosts by waiting longer. Switch to the nitro hud and aim for perfect boosts.

Yeah those are what I usually mess up. On the room going up with 90 degree turns make sure you do them real sharp and jump off the corners going up, it'll save good time.

You can unlock everything offline, but for the Grand Prix stuff it’s added via patch so you’ll need to be online to download it, but not to play it

Pitshop and Grand Prix are all online.

I suck at snaking, I'm getting fucking wrecked by a ghost. Every time I get something good going I catch myself not snaking for a second and Tropy blasts pasts me, or I hit the microscopic edge of a wall, or hit that fucking column at the beginning. It's making me paranoid about hugging corners but I keep taking the lower part of the track too wide, and Tropy passes me again

There can be one dedicated to random enemies like obj_motherfucker, and there can be one based off of Crash Bash, maybe a party or festival themed one with Rilla Roo and the Bearminator

You cannot recover, if you get auto missle locked by chance or blueballed. You cannot back up to first place if they get too far ahead.
